Ellen went into work a little late, having been on the phone half the day, talking Ash through clean-up on a minor fire. He was okay (and Ellen had some suspicions on how he'd managed to start a fire in his room, of all places), but she felt better that he'd called her immediately, even if she was already feeling tired just from hearing him so anxious.

In honor of the "occasion", she put up a sign as she opened the bar.

Once Tino explained what the drink special was, Isabel had to order it. Whether or not she'd drink it was still up for debate. For the moment she was satisfied to sit and stare at it.

"Isabel?" Parker caught up to her after some serious time not crying, no, not at all in her cubicle in Pixie cabin, and took the barstool next to her. "Hey."

Parker ordered one of the specials from Tino, said, "Banzai," and did the shot. Coughing. "You don't want to drink that."

"You're so not gonna. You don't even want to." Parker signaled for another shot. "I, on the other hand, am perfectly okay with just being a lot more numb."

Steve limped into the bar and took a seat. "Thanks to what we'll call surgical procedures, I am physically incapable of getting drunk. What do you have that might fix that?"

"Might depend on if you're looking for taste or sheer ability to screw you over," Ellen said with a wry smile, looking at the new guy hello, salty goodness.

"At the moment, I no longer care about taste. I remember being able to get drunk," he added wistfully. "It was fun." You're not so bad-looking yourself.

"On occasion," Ellen agreed, tilting her head as she thought. "But usually the getting there was more fun than the being."

She pulled out a tall glass and added Everclear after the ice, topped off with Southern Comfort, rum and pineapple juice. "Try this."

"Yeah," she said, blushing. "I wanted to apologize. I have no idea what that was. Fandom is weird."

She held up the basket. "I brought you some muffins. It's kind of late, but I was graduating and got sidetracked."

Ellen laughed. "Congratulations! And you didn't have to - I talked to your friend later and he explained some of what happened. However, I am not turning down muffins, once offered."

"Thanks. And it was Luke, right? He mentioned that he cleared it up," she said. "I still wanted to apologize in person. I'm so embarrassed. I swear, I don't usually go around claiming to be emperors of Rome."
