The Park [early evening]

Siegfried, Roy and their white tiger were in the park, prepared to put on a Very Important Show.

Well, if the tiger wouldn't keep running off. And...beeping. What the hell was that about anyway?

Ah, gremlin bites. Luke and Gavin were going to unhappy tomorrow, but for now...

Siegfried turned to Roy. "Are ve ready?"

Artoo, who was not a tiger, made another run for it.

Z was on her way to fetch provisions for the Chimera slumber party when she cut through the park.

And found her roommate and some guy she'd never met--though he looked vaguely familiar; one of her workshops, maybe?--apparently torturing Artoo. "Um. Guys? Whatcha doin' there?"

"Ve are performing!" Siegfried cried, prancing over. "Ve are very great magicians. I am Siegfried, that beautiful man over zehr, he ist Roy, und dis ist our tiger, who is also Siegfried."

Artoo let out a deeply unhappy burble.

Z wished devoutly for a camera. "I don't think your tiger feels very well, though. Maybe you should let him go home and get some rest."

"He is just being zee drama queen," Siegfried said, tossing Artoo a treat.

It bounced off his dome. "Good kitty!" Siegfried said, beaming.

Z facepalmed. Poor Artoo. "Um, Luke, I don't think that's a kitty. That's Artoo. And you're traumatizing him. Possibly more than my kids managed to."

Siegfried wrinkled up his nose. "Oh, zee children. Always with the crying during the performance and making it difficult to hear the beautiful sitar music ve use. Und sometimes the nose flute!"

"Nose flute," Z said faintly. Then she resigned Artoo to his fate and said brightly, "So tell me more! Who's your friend here?"

Siegfried smiled happily. "That is my Roy," he said. "He is beautiful, no?"

"Er, sure!" Z said enthusiastically. "Tell me more about your show. The--er--tiger? It does tricks?"

"He does!" Siegfried said, clapping his hands. "Tiger, dance!" he commanded.

Artoo whined, then spun in a circle.

Siegfried chucked another treat at his dome. "Good!"

That poor robot. "I think this is the best thing I've ever seen," said Z. "And Roy--is he a very good friend of yours?"

"Ve haff been together for years, ja," Siegfried said with a grin. "But my Roy, he has ways to keep ze lovemaking always exciting."

Luke was going to kill himself later.

Z was thinking pretty much the same thing. "Okay, please don't tell me about your sex life. Um. I know! What led you to work with tigers?"

"Zey are such noble creatures, no?" Siegfried said, giving Artoo an affectionate caress. "So beautiful."

Z felt faint with restrained laughter. "Yes. Yes, Artoo is very...noble. And affectionate."

And probably going to taser her in her sleep.

Artoo was definitely considering that, yeah.

Siegfried laughed. "Ja! Ve haff set up a sanctuary to protect all ze noble beasts."

Z briefly envisioned a herd of Artoos roaming free across the plain. A single giggle escaped before she tamped it down. "I mean. That's very noble of you."

"It vas my Roy's idea," Siegfried said, shooting Roy a fond look. "He likes to meditate vith them. Sometimes vithout the clothing."

Z almost fell over. "And on that note, I take my leave. Before I give myself an aneurysm. Artoo? If he's not better by tomorrow, zap him into submission and come get me so I can find a doctor."

He was planning to zap Luke just on general principle.
