Caritas - Saturday evening [Open]

Peter was in a live music kind of mood tonight, so he went to Caritas to get some hot cocoa and hear some zombie Christmas music. When he saw Tino alone behind the bar with some wigs still attached to him, Peter had to ask, "Do you need some help?" Tino sighed and nodded.

"Okay," Peter said, hopping the bar with ease. "Just tell me what I need to do when people ask for mixed drinks or whatever, because I have no clue about those. I mean, beer, I can probably figure that out because, hey, it's tough to mess up a bottle, right? Wow. Not much of a talker, are you? Clearly I'm going to need to talk for the both of us."

Tino was already regretting his decision.

[OOC: Your friendly, neighborhood substitute bartender is around!]

"I don't know if I should," Andrew replied honestly. "If I have another, I'm liable to try and jump you." He thought it over. "So only if you're getting one for yourself."

"Jump me..." Karal frowned in puzzlement, working out what that meant, then went absolutely bright red. So bright, in fact, it put all previous blushing to shame. "Oh. Oh! Umm, no, please don't do that. I'm really not interested in boys. At all. Not even a little bit, and you're a boy, so jumping would be bad and, yes, well..." He trailed off to a flustered halt, kind of wishing the floor would open up and swallow him.

Andrew smiled widely and laughed, because a flailing Karal was very amusing to his intoxicated sensibilities. "Don't worry," he said reassuringly, "I would never. Really. I'm very happily involved at the moment."

Of course, what is it they say, me thinks he doth protest too much?

He blew out a long breath and smiled back hesitantly, willing the flush to fade. "My apologies, it's," he waved a hand in the air, and it wasn't quite a flail, "something else I'm not really used to, hence the, umm, over-reaction. I could get you a non-alcoholic drink, maybe?"

"Sure. A water would be great, actually." Andrew reached out to pat Karal on the shoulder. "And don't worry about it. I'm sure I'll have pretty much the same reaction next time I run into you sober."

Karal laughed at that. "We'll see when you come down to meet Trenor," he said, flush fading as he relaxed, still feeling foolish, but glad he hadn't caused any offense. "And water I can get."

He trotted off to the bar and returned with a bottle of water, which he offered Andrew.

"Thanks," Andrew said, taking the bottle. "I'm usually a good deal more standoffish than this. I mean, this is the first time I've left the dorms for anything other than class or work since Thanksgiving."

"It's all right. I can survive a little embarrassment, Sunlord knows, it's likely even good for me." He leaned his hip against one of the chairs. "It's important to get out, at least a bit, so I'm very glad you did so tonight."
