Flag Football Game, The Park, Sunday Noon

It was the perfect day for a flag football game in the park. Lines had been handwavily chalked on the cold ground and would wash away in the next rain or snow. Posters had been handwavily put up to encourage everyone in Fandom to attend.

"Judging by Willow yelling at Sam when Dean scored, I'm pretty sure they're on opposite teams."

"Oh, that's entertaining," Zoe replied. "I suppose that means we should cheer for both teams."

"Yes, this is a situation where we have to be strictly neutral," John said.

"We'll just have to root for both of them and hope they score." Zoe laughed and smiled at Grace. "And someday, we'll make sure they teach you how to play."

"I'm sure she'll have those down in no time," Zoe replied. Glancing back out at the game, Zoe saw the boys and stared. "Is that part of the playing strategy?" she asked.

John sighed. "No, that would be what happens when the boys get competitive."

Zoe watched them with growing amusement, and put her hand over Grace's face. "I think you're too young to see this."

John watched as the game moved on and his sons continued wrestling. "I think they've forgotten they're playing football."

"I think so too. Will they break up on their own?"

"Probably. Eventually. If not, I can go over and pull them apart." He chuckled a little. "Though that was easier to do when they were small enough to bodily pick them up."

"I must say, you've taught them to fight well," Zoe said, smirking as she watched Sam struggle. "They're such boys. It's amazing."

"You haven't been cooped up with them in a car for days at a time," John said, still chuckling. "At least here, they've got the space and chance to burn off some of that energy."

"I can only imagine that going on in the back seat of a car," Zoe said. "How did they make it this long without you killing them?"

"It's a close thing sometimes, but I've put too much effort into keeping them alive," John joked.

"I suppose you have," Zoe agreed, turning her attention back to the field. "It's a good thing we don't play against any other schools, or we might get ourselves embarrassed."

"Oh, I don't know. There's nothing that will make my boys work together faster than an outside threat. I think the same's true for most of the students here."

"That's true. They'd probably be a lot more competitive if they weren't just playing for fun." Zoe tilted her head as the fighting turned to tickling. "They might fight better too."

"They're never really serious against each other," John said, chuckling again.

"That's better than them actually setting out to hurt each other," Zoe said.

"Dean would cut off his own arm before he ever deliberately hurt Sam," John stated.

"I've seen how protective he gets. I think the same might be true for Sam," Zoe said. "They both care about each other. You did good there."
