Flag Football Game, The Park, Sunday Noon

It was the perfect day for a flag football game in the park. Lines had been handwavily chalked on the cold ground and would wash away in the next rain or snow. Posters had been handwavily put up to encourage everyone in Fandom to attend.

"I'm fine," Luke said. "How are you?" He tilted his head. "Eyes feeling better?"

"They've felt fine. It's mostly better," she said, squinting onto the field. "I can see the colors and movement, but not the details. Every day is a little better."

"I can see the details and I still have no idea what's going on," he admitted. "I'm glad it's getting better, though. You had me a little worried."

She made a face. "Don't worry about me," she said. "I was already fine enough by the time I got back here."

"I was," she said. "I was still fighting when I was worse than this. The eyesight was the only reason I wasn't back in a cockpit. I'm always fine."

"You do know that's not the most reassuring thing I've ever heard, right?" he commented quietly. "I was still fighting when my hand got cut off. It didn't mean I should've been."
