Flag Football Game, The Park, Sunday Noon

It was the perfect day for a flag football game in the park. Lines had been handwavily chalked on the cold ground and would wash away in the next rain or snow. Posters had been handwavily put up to encourage everyone in Fandom to attend.

"I'm sure they will be grateful for not having to cook on their own." she said, nodding. Meg turned her attention to the field and groaned when she saw what was going on (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2349120.html?thread=105600320#t105600320). She shook her head a little. "Boys."

Isabel watched for a moment and rolled her eyes. "Definitely. Boys. Do you think they'll still be speaking when this is over?"

"Oh yeah." she said. "Whether or not they'll be saying nice things is yet to be determined."

"Good point. But they're brothers. They'll kiss and make up eventually," she said. "Hopefully before Christmas."

Isabel sighed, "Only after they wrestle around a bit. Then they'll look sheepish and try to pretend nothing happened."

"I can't say I've ever wrestled my sister." Meg said. She paused for a second. "Or anyone else for that matter."

"I wouldn't count that as wrestling." she said, grinning.

"Oh? What would you call it then?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

"Uh..." Meg blushed. "I...have no idea."

"I'm sorry," Isabel said when she saw the blush. "I'm just teasing. I'll stop."

"So what are you doing for Christmas?"

"It's fine. I need to learn how to stop getting like that about that sort of stuff." she said. She had bought herself lingerie to wear for Dean and she still doesn't know how she was going to pull that off without blushing.

"I'm going to stay here. My parents are going to flip but, whatever." she said, shrugging. "What about you?"

"It takes practice. I can still be reduced to a stammering, red-faced goof with the right comment," Isabel promised.

"I'm heading back to Roswell for a few days. It'll be nice to see everyone. I've missed them."

"That's nice. I'm going to miss seeing my sisters during break but I kind of, um, want to avoid my parents." Meg said. "They were less than pleased with my choice of colleges to apply to."

"Do you think they'll get over it?" That was the one benefit of everything that had happened this past year. Her parents were so happy just to have her alive, everything else fell by the wayside.

"I don't know. They're sort of, um, strict." she said. "But my grades are really good I did a lot of extracurriculars so I might not need their help at all paying for school with scholarships. I don't really think they'd cut me off."

"I hope not. You deserve the chance to go where you want. That's where you'll do best I'm sure," Isabel said. "I'm waiting to see where I get in, that'll make my final decision for me. But for that, I need to wait till at least February."

"Where did you apply to?" she asked.

"Cornell and UNLV, both have good hotel management programs. So it's really just a matter of where I get in," she shrugged.

"You'll get into both." she said, smiling. "I applied to Georgetown and Stanford. And Hearst, to make my parents happy. But if I had to go to college in Neptune I might go crazy."

"Stanford's nice. And close to San Francisco." Not that Isabel knew where Wyatt was going to end up, but if he was there, she was sure she'd be visiting often. "But I get what you mean about Hearst. A lot of people from Roswell wind up going to Las Cruces. I don't think I could deal with Roswell High Redux."

"Definitely. I mean, you kind of hope that maybe people would grow up in college but judging from the people I know in Neptune the chances of that are slim." she said.

"I haven't really kept in touch with any of my old friends from Roswell," Isabel admitted. "We were never really close, so when I left we lost touch. It's really no great loss."

"I haven't really either." she said. "I was always sort of the outcast in my group of friends. But my group of friends consists of Dick and Logan so it's probably best that I was an outcast."
