fandomtownies | Graduation Brunch: The Park, Sunday, mid-morning to mid-afternoon

It was the Grads' Brunch in the park today, as the brightly coloured banner -- CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2008! -- indicated.

There were lots of tables and chairs set up in the park, under sails for shade, and long tables groaning under the weight of the food and drink. Not just traditional ~~moddable~~ brunch foods, but a wide selection of ~~also moddable~~ greek dishes and delicacies.

Coffees, teas, punch, juices and softdrink were only some of the ~~also also moddable are you sensing a theme here?~~ wide range of drinks.

Music played quietly in the background, the speakers hanging from the trees, and bocce ball and croquet had been set up. There was even space for dancing, a hard floor having been laid over the grass between the trees.

It may be the Grads' Brunch, but everyone was welcome! Come and congratulate the class of 2008!

"You," Veronica said, spotting him and marching over. She stood there, glaring, with her hands on her hips.

Bel eyed her. "What?" he said. "Oh, come on, our room at the hotel was no where near yours, there's no way we kept you awake all night."

Veronica rolled her eyes. "Why the HELL are you telling people that I'm pregnant with Logan's baby?"

"I didn't tell anyone!" Bel protested. Pause. "Except maybe Parker."

"Yeah, and you know what? It's not true!"

Bel glanced around and lowered his voice. "You lost the baby?"

Veronica stepped very close. "I. Was. Never. Pregnant," she hissed, reaching up to thwap him in the back of the head.

"Ow!" Bel said. "I heard you on the phone! And I know you and Logan got it on!"

"Yeah, we did. And it was a mistake. And I would appreciate if you stopped telling people," Veronica said. "As for the phone call you overheard, I wasn't talking to Logan. I was talking to... someone else. And it was just a joke."

"Well, how was I supposed to know that?" Bel said.

"You could have tried asking," Veronica pointed out. "And maybe not eavesdropping on my conversations."

"You said Logan owned up to everything," Bel protested.

"Yeah, he and I both came clean to Angel right after it happened," Veronica said. "And Angel forgave us."

". . . oh," Bel said. "And he didn't knock you up?"

"No. He didn't."

". . . sorry?" Bel said meekly.

Veronica sighed. "Please tell me that you didn't tell anyone besides Parker?"

Bel scratched his head. "I don't think I did," he said.

"I really, really hope not," Veronica said. "What happened between me and Logan was... a mistake. And as for the phone call you overheard... well, that's not really relevant here."

She didn't need Bel to know about her hookup with Dick.

"You shouldn't go around telling people you're pregnant then," Bel said defensively.

"You shouldn't go around shimmering into my apartment and eavesdropping on my phone calls," Veronica retorted.

"I didn't mean to, I wanted some of Piper's brownies," Bel said. Then, by way of changing subject, he said, "So why were you acting like Dick was going to be your baby daddy?"

Veronica stared. "Despite what happened last weekend, I have no intention of Dick becoming my baby daddy ever."

Bel gaped at her. "You did sleep with him!"

"Once! And we were really drunk!"

No, she wasn't mentioning the morning after when they were sober.
