The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 09/17 ] -- Exhibit Opening! 8pm onward.

The past few weeks of work were finally coming to a head, and Charlotte was both nervous and excited and getting herself worked up into a frenzy with making sure everything was perfect. She couldn't help feeling an overwhelming sense of satisfaction with the exhibit, though. The turnout wasn't huge, but nicely manageable and thankfully not small by any measure. Some of the work was a bit amateurish, but she had to admit to being pretty blown away by a few of the others.

By the time eight o'clock rolled around and the doors were open, the gallery was set up in a display of the pieces by artist, and the usual spread of treats and drinks were available in another area of the room. Charlotte, dressed in a vibrant red, milled around the gallery to make sure everything was in order and all the guests were enjoying the exhibit. She was also keeping an eye out for the artists of certain pieces, since she was very eager to potentially meet them.

The Community Showcase Exhibit was open!

[[ or will be, once I get the very extensive OCD up! It's up! Enjoy! ]]

"Hello," he replied politely. "My name is Jan, and I'm a student." Best to get that established right away.

He chuckled a bit, not in an uncaring or humilitating manner though. "Yah, I can imagine you probably get all sorts of odd questions, huh? No worries, I heard about ya. The radio, ya know. Nice to meet ya, Jan. I'm Murdock."

"It is good to meet you, also," Jan replied. "This is the first time I have ever been in a gallery."

"I've been in one or two," he shrugged a little. Really, this only made place number two.

"Did you... submit anything?" He wasn't sure how a unicorn could make art, but around here, anything was possible.

"I cannot make art," Jan replied, and his ears shot forward. "But Claire made art of me! That is why I'm here, to see the art she made."

"Well, cool!" he grinned. "I'll have to keep an eye out for it."

"How are you likin' things around here so far?"

"I do like it," Jan said. "Everything is strange, and humans are very different, but this seems like a good place. The grass is very sweet, and oats are delicious."

He chuckled a little. "Well, I can't claim much 'bout the grass, but oatmeal is good, I'll agree."

"You're not used to humans? And don't worry about things seemin' strange, this island is kinda different like that."

"I had never met one before I came here," he explained. "I am growing more used to them, though so far, they are the strangest thing the island has offered me!"

"Some are stranger than others," he smirked.

He being one of them.

"But most folks here are pretty friendly. I don't think you'll have to worry about too much."
