Atlas Gym, Wednesday Evening

There was a large signboard in front of Atlas Gym proclaiming the evening's event:

Swim Suit Up and Grab a Noodle!
Wednesdays at the Dive-In
Tonight's Feature - Space Battles IV: Fresh Dreams

Students, townies, and teachers alike could cuddle up on a raft or a noodle in the heated, Olympic-sized pool or the bubbly jacuzzi and watch Duke and Hanno save Princess Leanna from the evil Dark Helmet.

"I'm not sure," said Mary. "Poor Simon was so upset that I didn't want to press him for details. And River Tam was one of my first employees. She's a student who graduated in Mary, and apparently now she's been kidnapped."

"Yah, I can imagine." Most people didn't react well to such news. "I don't think I had a chance to meet her. Sucks though. I hope everything works out," he said sincerely.

"Oh, she was the sweetest girl," said Mary, ignoring the fact that River had decorated the lobby with knives as a parting gift.

He nodded. "A lot of good kids around here. I hope they find her and she's okay."

"Other than that, everything else okay?"

"Everything else is fine," said Mary.

And just when it was safe for Murdock to look, Mary reached to pull her hair back, which meant sitting up out of the water a bit...

How cruel, ambushing him like that.

"Well good," he started.

Then went back to boggling a bit.

There had to be something distracting.

Ooh, look. Bubbles! He was watching the water with great interest.
