Atlas Gym, Wednesday Evening

There was a large signboard in front of Atlas Gym proclaiming the evening's event:

Swim Suit Up and Grab a Noodle!
Wednesdays at the Dive-In
Tonight's Feature - Space Battles IV: Fresh Dreams

Students, townies, and teachers alike could cuddle up on a raft or a noodle in the heated, Olympic-sized pool or the bubbly jacuzzi and watch Duke and Hanno save Princess Leanna from the evil Dark Helmet.

Their local pool showed movies. If that wasn't the most amazing combination in the world, Angela wasn't sure what was.

For the moment, she was lounging in a chair on the pool-side in her bikini, all ready to get into the water when the urge arose.

Viki wasn't quite sure of why she'd wandered in, but all the same, it looked quite fun, and she settled herself in a lounge chair, just nibbling on some crackers.

Amber grabbed a few salt and vinegar chips, pulled up a lounge chair, and decided she'd play with a noddle in a bit.

Hannibal wasn't ready to hit the water yet but he did have a swimsuit on and he was all sprawled out on a lounge chair, half watching the movie and half watching the pool.

Mary had taken a dip in the pool earlier, but opted for a lounge chair to watch the movie.

Chances were, with the teeny-tiny bikini she was wearing, that people might be watching her instead of the movie.

Ned didn't really plan on going swimming so he was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt but he had a towel just in case.

He took a spot on one of the chairs, letting his feet hang off the edge and idly watched the movie.

Rodney was not one to miss an opportunity to watch Space Battles. Especially if it was the original trilogy and on the big screen. He gathered an assortment of snacks, settled himself on a lounge chair, and tried to ignore the people splashing about in the pool.

Indy had come in to get workout but settled in for the movie. While he was amazed by the special effects he didn't seem to like the Hanno character very much.

"What a sleaze," he said to himself and reached for some more popcorn.

It wasn't that Buffy was in it for the movie, aside from the usual pop culture refs that were sure to burrow into her brain and make themselves a nice cozy home there, but she liked the chance to do something normal.

Even if this wasn't exactly normal as Webster's would define it, it was sorta cool. So Buffy would just be over here, relaxing on a lounge chair.

Jack grabbed a chair and some chips, wondering what this Space Battles was and what happened with the first three.

He'd come here out of some interest in catching up with the local culture. Ender had heard of Space Battles, but he'd never seen it.

The fact that it was in a pool, he realised, was simply a bonus; and if there was such a thing as chipper for him, that could probably be applied to the way he swiftly took a raft and settled in the pool.

The drifting was calming.

Marshall was lounging on a raft, completely in awe of the movie.

And, yes, he was quoting lines along with the characters.

Dick hadn't seen Space Battles in years. But while he watched it, he was pretty sure he was going to end up using his pool noodle as a Staff of Light at some point during the evening.

Amber dived in the pool later, then grabbed a noodle to hook behind her arms to float on.

Andrew had two noddles and a some floaties. This was the best idea ever! And if you had to go to the bathroom... well, who was going to know? Really.

If the chairs were nice (and they were) then the water was nicer. And the noodles entertained her as well.

One of John's favorite movies on a big screen and in the pool? It was assumed that he was there. And occasionally splashing people not in the pool.

Ella was floating on a raft, finally getting some use from her bikini. She'd never seen the movie, but this sounded like fun.

Space Battles and lounging around doing nothing, it was almost as if the universe had combined to give Marco the best of everything. Which is why he was floating around on a raft and grabbing the right colored noodles to re-create battles with.

Murdock had opted for the jacuzzi. Frankly, it did wonders for his sore knee.

He settled in to watch the movie, occasionally playing with the bubbles.
