Support Services Meeting: Friday in the Park
The largest picnic shelter at the park was decorated with a couple of the incredibly girly posters that had been going up around town, just in case people might think they should go to... any of the other shelters that didn't have any people in them. Because Francine was thorough that way, and also because she sometimes judged others by things she would expect herself to get caught doing.
The picnic table nearest the barbecue grills had a sign-in sheet on it, alongside a first aid kit, a couple of notebooks, and two cell-phones.

And she was definitely not thinking about last night and kissing Jon or walking through town holding hands and how difficult it was to not do more than kiss him good night when they finally got back to the dorms.

No, really, it was the cookies and not the unspoken but rather potent urge to stare at Morgana's breasts.
What? She wasn't the sort of girl who did that thing. Really.

A second cookie was promptly grabbed, but eaten slower this time.
Introductions
inappropriatelyat, after all."Hi! This is Morgana, and I'm Francine. If you came to see what we can do to help out when the island's getting invaded, you're in the right place. If you just came for the free cookies..." She shrugged, which might not have been a bright move given the skimpy tank top she was wearing under a boy-shirt that was totally not hers, but whatever. "They're over there."
Then she reached for the first aid kit behind her. "This is one of the things we figured out real fast is useful to have around, and people who know how to use them, too. If you're not from here and now, it's a First Aid kit - we've got them in the dorms too. Anybody out there fighting - or just caught in the crossfire - may need medical help without any chance to get to the clinic, or may have minor injuries that they don't want to throw at the doctors who have more important ones to fix."
"These--" Which were her cell-phone and Morgana's. "--Are cellular phones, and again if you're not from these parts, they're for contacting people directly from a long way away. If you don't have one, let us know and we can see about finding one for you, so we can keep in touch with the fighters and magic types."
Francine went through a few other useful skills they'd thought of, like research, message running for when cell-phones wouldn't work, setting up shelters in town, and so on - just a brief overview, since they could talk about how to coordinate those things later -- then said, "We know we didn't come close to thinking of everything, though. So speak up - let us know who you are and what you think you can help with!"

He was trained to be a detective -- not a conjurer, not a nurse, and not a soldier. This meeting seemed like it would fit what he could do more than either of the other two, if he could get past an urge to give the leaders untoward glances.
"I know some first aid, but I'm here for research," he said. "I read more than my share of languages and I learn quickly. I do need a cell phone."

"I know first aid and I can do CPR," she said. "And cook. And, um. Drive, if we ever end up someplace where there's room for a car. I'm not great at research if I don't know what to look for, but I'm pretty good at following directions."
Re: Introductions
Ugh, so lame. She blamed her brain still being stuck on last night.

She figured getting a head start before becoming a doctor someday wasn't a bad idea.

Why was she mentioning that? Other than how it seemed like the most important thing at the moment?
"I've learned a lot about treating injuries on the battlefield, and how to organize defenses for people who aren't fighters, and I'm pretty good at boosting morale if I do say so myself."
. . . no, really, when she said 'boosting morale,' that was exactly what she meant! There were a lot of ways to do it!

and her lovely breastslooked very pleased to be here. It was good to be doing something genuinely useful, something that made her feel like she could be as much a part of the community as Arthur had become, and the fact that there weremost likelypretty people to watch made the whole meeting even better.Re: Talk to the G-- Women, Thank You
