Caritas [Saturday evening]

Robin was not wearing her Robin Sparkles regalia longer than she needed to. Which was for the obligatory performance.

So, for right now, the wig and graffiti denim jacket were tucked away, and Robin herself, brunette and irritable-looking as ever, was behind the bar and eyeing a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

[hooooly crap, wait for this OCD. it's intense. OKAY IT'S ALL UP. For the sake of not collapsing the post from sheer OCD, there's no audience reactions threads -- just react right off the performances, please! Have fun! \m/]

The lights dim on the stage as the Lornettes swoop in slowly. A spotlight falls down on the green figure on the stage, his face a mask of pure emotion.

The bands begin to play a sad tune but with brave undertones underneath

I can almost seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my heeeeeeeeeeeeead heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeld hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeide
It's the cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimb

It's the cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimb ooooh-yeeeeeeah-eeeee-yeeeeeah!

Then Lorne's face snapped into a grin. "And when you're done climbing? It's time to BEAT IT!"

The Lornette's began to move their feet quickly in time with Lorne as he donned a sparkly glove and began some fancy dance moves. Occasionally there was a crotch grab and a "WOOO!"

They Told Him Don't You Ever Come Around Here
Don't Wanna See Your Face, You Better Disappear
The Fire's In Their Eyes And Their Words Are Really Clear
So Beat It, Just Beat It! EEE Kaaaa! WOOOOO!

You Better Run, You Better Do What You Can
Don't Wanna See No Blood, Don't Be A Macho Man
You Wanna Be Tough, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
Just Beat It, Beat It!
Just Beat It, Beat It!
Just Beat It, Beat It!
Just Beat It, Beat It!

Just then the Lornettes separaged to reveal a blue man holding a guitar.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!" Lorne shouted. "The blue man whose name I don't know!"

[Please wait for said Blue Man!]

Arpegius. His name was Arpegius.

It was a lovely, pretentious sort of name that suited him just fine, thank you very much, and he would have said something, but for two issues. First, he didn't have a microphone. All he needed was to patch his guitar in to the amplifier system, after all. And, of course, he really preferred to just not say anything.

So sue him.

Either way, it was time for his solo. Which he did with a grin and a lot of posing. He knew he was pretty. Even for a blue guy.

The beat of the music changed to a Latin style groove and the Lornettes began to do a booty shaking dance to enhance the rhythm. Funny enough it was well suited for a guitar player.

And while he wasn't Rob Thomas... Lorne could definitely do the song justice in his own booty shaking way.

Man its a hot one!
Like seven inches from the midday sun!
I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cooooooooool
My muy equito
My !panish Harlem Mona Tino!
Your my reason for reasooooon!
The step in my groooooooooooove!

Lorne then stepped aside so the blue guy could do his thing and so Lorne could shimmy.

Carlos Santana, Arpegio was not. But that didn't mean he couldn't keep up, and show off a little in the process.

... Mostly, it involved more posing. And you could tell that he was enjoying himself, here. His guitar was practically singing along.

This Santana guy, Arpegio decided, was good. He was paying homage to a mighty fine artist, here. Even for an Earth guy.

Lorne kept on shimmying. He was good at it. Plus the blue guy knew how to play a guitar. All the Lornettes dance around him provocatively in order to show off his talent.

And if you say "This life ain't good enough!"
I would give my world... to lift you up!
I could change my life to better suit your mooooooood!
Cause you're so smoooooooooooooooooooooth!

Arpegius whose mun totally didn't typo his name twice in that last ping wtf ignore that certainly didn't need backup dancers to show off his talent. He just needed his guitar, his pick, his charming good looks, a sexy orange jumpsuit, and his charming good looks.

They were worth mentioning twice. He wore the blue well. It complimented his pink guitar nicely. The one that he was playing at with a sort of fierce determination.

The Lornettes danced around him anyway. Possibly because of his charming good looks.

But mostly because he was a guitar god.

Lorne of course was belting out the lyrics like nobody's business.

And just like the ocean under the moooooon!
Well that's the same emotion that I get from you!
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth!
Gimme your heart! Make it real!
Or else forget about it!

Well, Arpegius certainly didn't mind the backup dancers. In fact, they were pretty attractive. And the green was starting to grow on him, really.

Very well, he'd tolerate them, so long as they agreed to sit with him for drinks, later.

Solo time? Small solo time. He'd take it. And make a mental note to really rip it up at the end of the song.

Lorne was completely rocking to the music now, just as the Lornettes swayed and shimmied around Arpegius.

And yes. It was smoooooooooth damn it. Lorne let it all out as he headed for the last verse and chorus looking for a big finish.

I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it would be a crying shame
In every breath and every word I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio you hear my rhythm from your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
Turning you round and round

And just like the ocean under the moon
Well that's the same emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth
Gimme your heart make it real
Or else forget about it!

And naturally, Arpegius was going to take that solo and make it his own, getting into the rhythm and sway and putting on a show that complimented Lorne's singing like nobody's business.

The posing and jumping probably helped. Look, he got into his music when he had an audience.

Okay. He would accept your applause, now.

As would Lorne.

"Thank you Fandom!" he said blowing kisses to the crowd. Whether they were there or not. "Thank you! Please give it up for... the guy whose name I still don't know! Thank you!"
