Fandom Fight Club -- Atlas Gym -- Sunday Evening
Tyler and Ghanima were both there early today, waiting for everyone to arrive.
"Good evening," she started, looking around the space. "Welcome back, and we're back to our randomly assigned pairs."
"Miss Dinah Lance and Miss Claire Bennet. Mr. Jono Starsmore and Miss Lulu. Jedi Tahiri and Miss Fa Mulan. If you do not already know each other, please introduce yourselves. You are partners for your fights this evening."
Tyler just rolled his eyes at Ghani's formality. "Jen, grab Blysse. Katarn and Hathaway, Mayor Summers and Blue Girl. Go to it."

Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Only today, it wasn't the usual 'oh, please' eyerolling that he tended to do. It was the sort of eyerolling that came hand-in-hand with the view, and generally involved a good deal of reminding oneself where one's opponent's face was located.
//Where I'm from, if yer take it easy on somebody, odds are they won't bother t'return th'favour when yer need it most. Anything I ought t'know before we get on with this?//
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
She'd leave the matter of her speed and agility for the battle itself -- he could learn that the hard way. (Now if only she could land a punch...)
"And with you?"
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
//More or less th'same,// he replied. And then, because she didn't seem to be freaking out about his voice at all, he added, //If any of th'bandages come loose, just... S'nothin' t'worry about, is all.//
It seemed easier to say that than to ask that she not punch him in the chest. Even if he now knew from experience that having a hand shoved inside of him was really no fun at all.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
He'd make damn certain of that.
//If that's all, then perhaps we ought ter begin?//
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
"Whenever you're ready," she said.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
... Shoulder. Yes. Her shoulder seemed safe.
This was bound to be a bloody awkward match.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
... What? It was a valid, potentially debilitating move.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
... Mostly because he lifted his own leg up and out of the way. But it was nice to think that it was a fate thing, really.
But, since his leg was up already, he might as well turn that move into something of a snap-kick toward Lulu's hip, right? Yes. Very good.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Unfortunately for Lulu, she wasn't fighting a) on Spira or b) with spells, and while considering the best way to strike out at Jono again, she wasn't paying enough attention to dodge quickly enough.
Which meant ow, that fucking hurt.
Lulu backed off a few steps, favoring that side for a moment as the sting of the kick passed. "Nice hit," she said coolly, circling around. "You won't get another."
... Sure, Lulu. You go on believing that.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
You didn't walk out of a London pub brawl in one piece if you didn't pay attention to what was going on, after all.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Even then, she's no great talent with her fists, so her punch at Jono's shoulder? Telegraphed to Hell and back.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Almost. Kind of.
[Random fact: This is my favourite icon only because it involves one of my characters punching another of my characters.]
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Which had the added benefit of knocking the breath out of her, a bit, and she stumbled back.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
//Bit of a pointer, luv? When yer tryin' not t'get hit, a better idea would be to keep th'more vulnerable parts of yer away from whatever's swingin' yer way.//
Helpful, Jonothon.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
That? Was an almighty bitchslap heading for Jono's face.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
As it stood, the recoil that happened there was more because emergency re-wrapping needed to happen before everyone in the room could see, and less because he had a glass jaw. It was difficult to have a glass one if you didn't have one at all.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Really, it wasn't any weirder than Yunalesca's hair (http://www.gamechoiceclub.com/image/merch_yunalesca.gif). (Even before it turned into a mass of snakes.)
As he was rewrapping, Lulu followed up the slap with a kick to Jono's thigh.
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
It wasn't an easy decision to make. And his thigh was going to absolutely hate him in the morning. His eyebrows furrowed at the impact, and his leg actually buckled a bit, but he didn't move.
//Better get all yer best hits in now, then. Easy target for another... fifteen seconds or so,// he
bitchedgrumbled while he tucked in things that had never been intended to come untucked.Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
Re: RNG Fight: Jono Starsmore & Miss Lulu
//Thanks,// he said as he pulled them tight and secure over a face that wasn't really there. //I... owe yer one.//
For letting him have a moment. For not causing a scene. For whatever.
