When Adrian came in to work today, he found everything set up already, and Tino behind the bar wearing a graduation cap. The weird thing was, it wasn't even in Fandom High's colors.

"You're a strange man, has anyone ever told you that?" Adrian wondered.

Tino had no answer, probably because he didn't need to be told.

Dimitri was still traveling back from escorting Lissa to St Vlad's, so Rose was on guardian duty tonight.

A slightly subdued Rose in proper black who faded into the background far better than she usually was able to. Which didn't mean she wasn't paying complete attention to everything in the bar. Just subdued.

Adrian kind of liked Rose playing guardian. He didn't know why. He wouldn't even want to bug her except he was Adrian and she was Rose and he was not great with the self-control.

"I'm pretty sure you're allowed a drink from Tino," he offered. He'd so get it.

Rose gave him a Look. "Yeah, Adrian, I'm going to have a drink tonight. Are you smoking crack tonight?"

"Water's a drink," he smirked. "I do know some non-alcoholic things, thank you."

"Wait," Rose frowned at him. "Adrian? Is that you? Are you a doppelganger-thingy?"

"No, I think my doppleganger's probably back at the dorms," Adrian replied. "We call the non-alcoholic things 'mixers' in my world, if that makes you believe I'm not a pod person."

She heaved a teasing sigh. "I feel better now. Can I have a Coke?" Rose considered Adrian for a minute. "You guys don't really look that much alike."

For one, Adrian was hotter. And she liked him more which was scary.

He got to work on getting the drink together- simple as that was- and slid it toward her, noting, "Thank you. That's what I thought, too."

He also dressed better.

"Thanks," Rose said, giving him a quick smile. "So you think about your doppelganger a lot, huh?"

"Only when others bring him up. Then it's usually followed by me thinking I wear my face better," he admitted.

Rose was in the strange position that everything that came to mind here was some sort of a compliment. Which obviously couldn't be.

"Probably what I'd think if I had a random chick looking like me too," she admitted.

"No random chick could look like you." Flatterer.

"Wow, that's an old line," Rose snarked. "You're really pulling out all the stops, aren't you."

"Who says I'm not being serious?" he asked. "And wasn't supposed to be a line." Maybe a little bit.

"If you were being serious, it would sound like a line," she challenged.
