Atlas Gym | Friday

Sure the temperature outside was finally dropping below eighty, but within Atlas Gym, the heat was building.

There was no music.

There was no air conditioning.

There was only a hot and sweaty Russian who had spent the morning dragging old, dust-covered fans out of storage and setting them up to provide some relief to the Jazzercise participants who were literally going to be sweating to whatever oldies they could sing today.

Dimitri propped the doors to the gym open, hoping for a little natural air circulation while he went through his own workout, shirt getting heavy with perspiration. What? Like he was going to just hang out because of a little heat.

Atlas Gym was open for business!

The door to the gym might have been open, but the wave of heat that blasted into Rose's face as she walked in wasn't mitigated much by that. Ew.

She shook her head at the insanity of the guy being all stoic and working his way through his routine. "Did you decide we needed a steam room?" she asked a little snarkily. Shaking her hair back, Rose reached to pull it off her neck, wishing so much she'd put it up.

The problem there being that her ponytail was long enough that hair still plastered against her back.

"Lucky us," she said, making a face.

Give her a second to enjoy that particular glimpse provided. It made her rethink a little. "So in the meantime, we get to enjoy being all hot and sweaty?"

"You sound totally okay with the whole thing," Rose said, shaking her head as she wandered over to the back room to grab him a bottle of water. (Yes, she was nice sometimes).

She wrinkled her nose at him, tossing him bottle of water. "It's nice outside..."

There was just a hint of a smirk at his response. They both knew leaving wasn't going to be conducive to that, yes.

"Reporting for what?" It was field experience. Why were there reports involved? Of course Rose had only paid attention t the fights before.

"Um," Rose shrugged. "Let's pretend I did..."

She shook her head at that eyebrow. "Which one's less boring?"

"Yeah, cause reports are so much fun to start with," Rose pointed out. "I've seen you getting bored as hell working on yours so don't start."

"Kinda sounds like the definition of boring, yeah," she decided.

Rose rolled her eyes, not quite looking at him. "I don't know how writing essays is going to make me get better."
