Strawberry Social - The Park, all day

Vida had been busy since early that morning, setting up the park to be perfect for the Strawberry Social. Fortunately, the park was bug free, but she had music playing to drown the sounds of Celine Dion from nearby residences. Said music tended toward the pop side, bouncy and happy, with a side of disco. Drake had nothing to do with that, really.

Several picnic tables were laid end to end, covered with red table cloths and adorned with flower arrangements. There were plenty of plates to load up with food, which was available in plenty, including just about every strawberry dish imaginable. Vida had gone overboard, yes. She'd also provided red flowers to tuck in the hair and red scarves for those who might be feeling red-deficient.

Ignore any threat of rain, the weather was gorgeous. Because Vida demanded it.

Hannibal could be social. Hannibal wanted to be social what with his time on the island fast coming to an end.

So, clad in a dark red t-shirt, he was out there, holding a strawberry milkshake, and enjoying his time in the sun.

Rory, who'd heard about the event from Anakin, had decided that this was the perfect thing to make it up to Juliet after leaving her to go to that wedding the day before. (Juliet, it should be noted, was delighted to spend the day being spoiled by her grandma. Rory was just neurotic.) Besides, while Rory herself had just worn a red shirt, Juliet (http://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-Baby-Strawberry-Cherry-Sunsuit/dp/B003931QLW) had the perfect outfit for this occasion!

Which, Rory realized, was probably not the best in hindsight, considering she was planning on letting the wee one feed herself.

This event gave Piper another excuse to bake, which is why she arrived with a basket of strawberry muffins. It also gave her an excuse to be social and to enjoy a margarita.

She was wearing red, of course.

Bod hadn't baked anything but he hoped he made up for it with his red and white striped shirt. The jeans covered his still bandaged and still sore knee but he'd managed actual shoes this morning for the first time since coming back.

It was warm and sunny so Bod found a spot on the grass that he could stretch out and let the sun warm his face. A ball cap and sunglasses shaded his face, covering up some evidence of a sleepless night (nightmares were still prevalent) but he otherwise felt good.

Strawberries? Jack was so there, determined to enjoy himself to his stomach's content.

He had a red tank on (and Fruit of the Loom undies, which totally meant strawberries, right?) and enjoyed a piece of strawberry pie.

Kate... wasn't so sure she wanted to do this social thing, not when she'd been mostly keeping to herself for the last week.

But she could fake it like a pro if she had to, and she looked nothing less than fabulous in her red dress and her heart-shaped sunglasses as was slowly walking around with a glass of strawberry lemonade.

Vimes was there to make certain nothing untoward happened. Because, barring the previous weekend, it was so very common for something horrible to happen on the island.

After their shift at the Gig, Firekeeper snagged a few of the tiny baskets of strawberries that had appeared in the barn and she and Blind Seer headed over to the park. She had no idea if she was supposed to bring something or not, but she figured it couldn't hurt.

Rilla did not wear a red dress (it didn't go at all with her coloring, for one thing), but she had tucked some red poppies into the belt of her white dress and had the sweetest little sailor hat with a red ribbon sewn on.

In her hand she held a straw basket full of Susan's strawberry preserves. She felt quite at home at a celebration like this.

Bruce was wearing a red dress shirt. He figured he could have gone for a full red suit, but that kind of blinding monochromatic style wasn't him at all.

As to why he was here in the first place, well, if last weekend proved anything to him, it was that there were some benefits to being social. And he might as well see how a party like this was thrown so that he'd be better prepared someday when he had to do events for the Wayne Foundation.

Oh, social things, definitely Angela's idea of fun. She was dressed for the occasion in her red dress, and nibbling at some of those chocolate covered strawberries.

This was what she could get used to on a weekend.

It had taken Karla awhile to find a red dress that managed to cover her knees without being some kind of super-prom gown or something. She still wasn't entirely certain about her final choice, but she'd gotten impatient with shopping and just decided to go with this dress anyway.

Her budgie accessory didn't match the color-scheme, but Karla wasn't going to leave Warren inside while she mingled in the park. She was going to see if he liked strawberries. In all likelihood, he'd end up red before the day was out.

And since she'd forgotten her sunhat in her room, so would Karla.

Price had on a red tie. That was about the closest he could come right now. Red tie with a black button-down shirt and trousers.

This was another thing that he was doing because it seemed the right thing to do. He didn't quite know what to do now that he was there, though.

Her shoes were white, though. There was kind of a theme being rocked here, with the polka dots and all.

Jason wasn't big on things that involved the word "social" but he couldn't ignore so much free food in one place. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to walk away with any of it, especially the deserts, but at least he wouldn't go hungry here.
