The place was open tonight, and hopefully people had actually heard about or seen the signs for the Over 18 party. Otherwise... this was going to be lame, oops.

The bar was open in case anyone wanted to drink (imagine that), and the floor in the back room had been mostly cleared with the tables pushed back so people could mingle or eventually sleep if they ended up not wanting to trudge home later.

And there was a sign out.

Jono hesitated for a moment. Kitty logic was stepping forward and taking hold, now. Curses, Kitty. Curses.

"... No," he admitted. "I'm just not very good with crowds, generally. But this isn't so bad. It isn't like I haven't met most of these people."

"Well, I did go to school on this island," Jono countered. "And that was... not even a year ago, by Fandom's standards. You see faces around. Or run into them at The Perk. Or spend Christmas under the same roof as them in Louisiana..."

How did Jono end up knowing so many people? For an antisocial recluse, he sure got out a lot.

"Er... One of the graduates lives there," he explained. "It's a different Louisiana than anything we're really used to. We have mutants, they have vampires and fae. And Elvis eats cats."

But he still hummed Blue Suede Shoes from time to time, and that was good enough for Jono.

"I don't think he's... completely sane," Jono offered, helpfully. "Goes by Bubba, now."

A beat.

"That version, of course. I have my doubts about the possibility of one from a world like ours still being alive and vampiric somewhere." A beat. "Not that I'll rule anything out, these days."

A beat.

"Now, if he'd be so kind as to bring Janis and Hendrix back with him so they could all put on a show together, I'd be most appreciative."

That took a moment for Jono to absorb, before a little smile crossed his face and he broke into a soft chuckle.

"Lord, I hope not. May Bubba remain one of a kind, please."
