Valentines Dance, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

The town hall had been transformed into a ballroom fit for a queen (and/or king. Or multiples thereof). The ceiling was resplendent in ribbons of royal purple, gold and white, and castle murals adorned the walls.

As they entered, tonight's guests were offered their choice of crown or tiara. Over by the photographer who doesn't have a thread because that's what happens when you post at 6:30 in the morning, there was a pair of thrones set up to really complete the theme.

And- of course there was glitter. Really, people, did you even need to ask?

Anyway, the doors were open, the punch was as of yet unspiked... welcome to your 2012 Valentines Ball, Fandom!

"I'm pretty sure the more uncomfortable you are, the more fashionable it's supposed to be," Toby offered. At least, that's the way it seemed from his perspective.

"And so we find out why I'm not made to be fashionable." There were certain things Kate needed out of an outfit, and generally if it was fashionable, it wasn't good for kicking people in.

"You enjoying playing dress-up for the night?"

"It's... different?" Toby offered. "I've never actually worn a tux before." Which was probably evident in the way he kept fidgeting with his sleeves, his tie, the hem of his dress shirt...

"I haven't worn a nice dress in a really long time," Kate admitted. "And a tiara in never." Today felt very much like she was playing princess as a really small kid.

"You know as a politician you should really get used to the monkey suit," she reminded him. It was the way these things went.

"Can't say crowns are part of my usual accessories either," Toby admitted. "What, you don't think I can manage secondary school policy in jeans and a t-shirt?" Freshman rep was... not exactly a position that carried with it a lot of power.

"Jeans, a t-shirt and a crown. That could be your new ensemble." Kate grinned. "At least your voters would be able to pick you out of a crowd nice and easy?"

"I'm a man of the people, Kate," Toby said solemnly, reaching up to adjust said crown. "I feel my attire should reflect that."

Kate snickered, fanning herself idly with one hand. "Some of the 'people' around here are probably royalty," she noted.

"So is there someone around you're planning on showering with heart shaped things and candy?" That was the theme of the holiday, after all.

Toby snickered. "I don't know if Kenzi's in to the fluffy stuff, but candy? Definitely."

"... I can imagine that." Though Kenzi on sugar was a terrifying thought in itself. "I'm surprised she's not bouncing off the walls already." It was what Kate imagined for a natural state.
