Valentines Dance, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

The town hall had been transformed into a ballroom fit for a queen (and/or king. Or multiples thereof). The ceiling was resplendent in ribbons of royal purple, gold and white, and castle murals adorned the walls.

As they entered, tonight's guests were offered their choice of crown or tiara. Over by the photographer who doesn't have a thread because that's what happens when you post at 6:30 in the morning, there was a pair of thrones set up to really complete the theme.

And- of course there was glitter. Really, people, did you even need to ask?

Anyway, the doors were open, the punch was as of yet unspiked... welcome to your 2012 Valentines Ball, Fandom!

Lex had no date, Lex needed no date. He did however have a very well made tux, and what could only be described as a slink in his step.

He now also had a crown jauntily perched on his head.

Topher... probably wasn't going to stick around very long, and didn't have much in the "formalwear" department, but he was here for the food. That was okay, right?

Peter wasn't the type to dress overly casually to begin with, and so while his suit was cheap, it was nice anyway. He came into the dance alone - having a date wasn't exactly a big deal to him - and kept an eye out for anyone worth talking to.

Luke wasn't really sure why he was here. He wasn't sure if dances were his thing anymore and he had been feeling...well, he'd been feeling things that weren't really appropriate for public the last few days. But he had put on a suit and showed up anyway.

He guessed he did it just so nobody could call him antisocial.

Possibly by sexy-dancing. Or at least by strutting around in as sexy a manner as possible.

Wesley was here, looking dapper -- though perhaps perspiring a bit -- and maintaining an awkward distance from a certain girlfriend who wasn't exactly helping to settle his... well, hormones.

Yeah, Wesley might have been more awkward than usual today. Imagine that.

Also, a heaping plate of food. Because that was how she rolled.

Cara had a completely unsurprising lack of formal wear, especially given that she'd had no intentions of coming to this thing at all until the walls of her room had suddenly seemed too small and suffocating and lonesome quiet.

She did however have an impressive glare that she'd turned on the poor NPC who'd offered her a tiara.

Tony had a date and a nice suit that was not horrible looking like everything his PB wears and now he had a crown.

Who didn't want a random crown when they went to a dance?

Formal for Loki seemed to mean his normal outfit from Asgard. Which, sadly for the dance, meant he already had a crown and did not need theirs to feel more important for an evening.

Because Loki, you see, was a dick. But he was there.

Percy hadn't even intended to come to the dance what with the way he was feeling and the way he'd been having to pretty much run past Luke's room so he wouldn't stop and try and jump the other boy.

But then, there'd been flowers and he'd wanted to see Luke so he put on his suit and came on down just to see what was the what.

Jim was... not really all that experienced when it came to school dances, no. What he did grasp was that dressing up nicely was sort of a thing, and that now that he was actually getting paid, he could afford to get something nice.

So, a white suit it was, which he only looked a little awkward in while he stood around waiting for the person he'd been paired off with through that Valentine match-up thing.

It was entirely possible that there was a little pink blob floating around with him to play chaperone tonight, too.

This was a strange day for Natalie. For one thing, the weird twitchiness that had settled in yesterday was still there. For another, she was all dolled up for a dance for what was basically the first time in her life.

There was makeup, though not much of it (just red lipstick and some mascara), and there were shoes that weren't entirely flat. Not that anyone was going to be looking at her shoes, because she also had a low-cut red dress, and Joan hadn't been wrong to suggest it to her. By now, she was already comfortable in it. Or, any discomfort she may have had regarding how much skin was exposed was at least carefully hidden. The effect was the same. She looked confident in her usual understated way.

Besides, her hair was still down. Putting her hair up was the one thing Auntie Joan hadn't convinced her to try. And currently, the future Perfect Woman of her world was was eyeing the tiaras with mild interest.

Rilla was wearing a very daring (for her, anyway) purple dress (http://poshposh.com/image/2009/12/Alberta%20Ferretti%20dark%20purple%20tulle%20sleeveless%20sequin%20and%20bead%20embellished%20scoop%20neck%20dress.jpg) and had forgone her usual green hat for the occasion because she hated it because it clashed. Instead she'd done her hair up in a loose bun and had adorned it with some of the flowers that had arrived at her door that morning.

She was feeling quite pretty, which accounted for the faint blush to her cheeks as she glanced around the room and adjusted the tiara she'd been happy to put on her head.

Toby tugged uncomfortably at the tie around his neck. He really wasn't used to formalwear at all. Luckily, he had a date with him who was proving to be a more than adequate distraction.

"Should we get ourselves some crowns?" he asked said date.

Dances were one of the few times one was likely to catch Firekeeper a) in a dress and b) without Blind Seer by her side.

She even had a pair of silk slippers on her feet, although the chances of those lasting the night were extremely slim.

Taking a crown and perching it on her head, she made her way inside the dance hall.

She was checking the place out, and had to wonder if it was her, or if the guys all just looked cuter tonight. Had to be the suits.

She was keeping it forever shut up she was never going to get another one of these.

Punch and Food [V-Day 2012]

There was a heavy emphasis on foods considered aphrodisiacs (http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/Articles/Nutrition-Health-Food-Labeling-646/aphrodisiac-foods.aspx) by many Earth cultures, for some reason, but otherwise contained the usual moddable selection. Also the aforementioned unspiked punch.

Well, if Surreal was going to be here, she was going to be out on the dance floor.

It was an area she tended to dominate, and fairly well. Waltz, tango, any formal dances she had to learn under Sadi's patronage, as well as things more suited to the music (http://youtu.be/6bvlj2a4xLc).

Surreal knew her body, and she knew it well. She could dance almost as well as she could kill, and she found it almost as much fun, too.
