Valentines Dance, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

The town hall had been transformed into a ballroom fit for a queen (and/or king. Or multiples thereof). The ceiling was resplendent in ribbons of royal purple, gold and white, and castle murals adorned the walls.

As they entered, tonight's guests were offered their choice of crown or tiara. Over by the photographer who doesn't have a thread because that's what happens when you post at 6:30 in the morning, there was a pair of thrones set up to really complete the theme.

And- of course there was glitter. Really, people, did you even need to ask?

Anyway, the doors were open, the punch was as of yet unspiked... welcome to your 2012 Valentines Ball, Fandom!

Elphaba, in a dress over her own (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/tahari-by-arthur-s-levine-scoop-neck-crepe-sheath-dress/3245584?origin=category&resultback=662), walked over when she saw Annie at the dance.

"I believe we're supposed to be Secret Valentines," she said, by way of greeting. At least she was smiling when she said it.

"Happy early Valentine's Day," Elphaba replied. "We have Karla to thank for all this. Apparently she put my name in for this whole thing. She thought I wouldn't turn up, otherwise."

Of course, once Elphaba found out Karla hadn't come to the dance, she'd have words with her friend.

There was a major downside to people signing other people up for things without their knowledge; it left the other person going "...oh."

"...Oh. Well, if you don't want to be here, I can keep myself busy," Annie offered.

"Oh, no," Elphaba said, shaking her head a little. "I don't mean to say I don't wish to be here. I just thought... I thought it might be amusing to share that, that's all. I've had a good talk with her about it, and while it wasn't originally my idea, I still intend to make the most of it."
