Fashion Show! [Community Center, evening]

The community center had been decorated (glitterified), the models were probably backstage by now either looking fabulous or questioning their life choices, and once everyone was ready there were two emcees taking the stage.

Rilla was still not wild about public speaking when it wasn’t over the radio (there, no one could stare at her), and so she said a quick prayer that she wouldn’t lisp too terribly. The poor starving Belgians were counting on her efforts here!

“Hello,” she said with a tight, nervous smile, “and welcome to the first annual--” things sounded better when they could become annual events, right? “--Kappa Delta Gremlin Fashion Show!”

After waiting for any applause- and there had better be applause, it was only polite- Annie continued, "Tonight you're going to see members of the sorority, fraternity and Pride show off some fashions, and help raise money for the Red Cross to help people all the way back in 1915!" Which probably wasn't going to create some weird time paradox, right? They were being helpful. And retro. Retro-ly helpful.

Rilla waited for that applause to die down before concluding, “And tho--” bad word. BAD WORDS THAT RILLA DIDN’T EVEN THINK FOR THE POORLY TIMED LISPING RIGHT NOW, GOD, “--without further ado,” or any other words with s, if she could help it, “our first model!”

There was a definite bright side to not joining any clubs at all. When three of them teamed up, Bruce was had no obligation other than to sit down, support any friends who might be up on stage, and do his part for charity.

And maybe he gave an extra donation beyond the cover charge. He didn't think the starving Belgians would object to a little extra money, paradox be damned.

Apparently turning fifteen yesterday had given Stacey the confidence to wear something that totally should have been longer (http://cdn02.cdn.gofugyourself.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blakelively_113899910-419x599.jpg), Anastasia Elizabeth you are onstage.

But being sophisticated and also having spent a weekend competing on America's Next Top Model meant her walk was really good. Even in heels!

Stacey had a couple things to choose from in case she changed her mind at the last second, and there was one (http://gofugyourself.com/fug_or_fab_blake_lively0707-07-2010) she kept going back to because the description was fitting. But no, that wasn't exactly worthy of a fashion show.

That didn't mean she wasn't still thinking about going off the beaten path there even as she touched up her makeup.

Ben wasn't at all sure about the suit he was in and he was even less sure about walking down the catwalk, but he didn't trip and fall on his head, so he was counting it as a win.

"And now here we have Ben Skywalker, here in a lovely suit," Annie said, and 'lovely suit' was stretching it. 'Suit' was apt. 'Suit' might also be an insult to real suits. Look, she was trying more to disguise the look of horror on her face. "It's a very... interesting pattern, to stand out from the crowd and it sort of looks like it might be tweed. Which just goes to show, sometimes you have to take some chances."

Or something.

"Thank you, Ben!"

It was a little (okay, a lot) different from her normal uptown prep look, but Quinn was happy with what was staring back at her (http://cdn.buzznet.com/media-cdn/jj1/2011/12/agron-nylon/dianna-agron-nylon-january-2012-01.jpg) once she was in full Edie Sedgwick drag. For one, the slicked-back hair and heavy eyeliner made her eyes look huge.

"I need to start wearing more vintage," she mused to no one in particular. "Maybe not the fake fur, though."

It was a fashion show. Even though it wasn't exactly New York Fashion Week, of course Jeremy was here.

And feeling right at home.

The nice thing about being a guy was that Billy didn't have to worry about hair and makeup. At least, he assumed he didn't have to worry about hair and makeup. If anyone came near him with eyeliner, they might be in trouble.

Tara had the worst time finding a shirt that actually covered everything she thought a shirt would cover, but she thought her skirt was pretty awesome. And apparently going insane and thinking she was a model that one time had paid off: She made it down the runway without too badly embarrassing herself.

Quinn (http://cdn.buzznet.com/media-cdn/jj1/2011/12/agron-nylon/dianna-agron-nylon-january-2012-01.jpg) walked down the runway like she owned it.

So what if she was only five foot five? Today, she was a superstar.

Juliet thought about rejoining the sorority for a week for modeling purposes, but decided a better place for her was in the audience. She was dressed to impress and sitting by her brother, ready to take photos of any looks worth stealing.

Seifer had watched some vids on the internet this morning, so he had an idea of what he should be doing on the catwalk.

Thankfully, he liked the outfit (http://images.wikia.com/smallville/images/6/6b/S6-jh-3.jpg) they shoved him into.

Seifer sat back and let the makeup girls do their thing, and tried not to growl every time she started talking about mascara.

Seifer hung around after, still in the jacket he wore for the show, because they were not getting it back.

Absolutely nothing against the wearer, but describing this one was going to be a challenge.

"Now we have Quinn Fabray, wearing a peach skirt and ivory ruffled blouse, and a coat made of... something!" Annie tried, she really did. "Looking good, Quinn!"

That made it better, right?

Remembering one fashion show that had had stuck a Winchester in a tutu or something, Jaye was totally here. Without popcorn, though.

She did have gummi bears, though.

Billy was clean shaven omg had worn suits before but this one had a few more pieces than he was used to, so he had to rush to get dressed. He might have looked a little nervous on the catwalk, wondering how he'd let himself get talked into this.
