Thirty one.

Well, Mike supposed it was okay. He was the same damn person he'd been yesterday, wasn't he? Same damn person he was gonna be tomorrow, too. (Actually... That wasn't entirely accurate, but it was an island thing and therefore didn't count.) So did he really have anything to worry about? Probably not.

Still, he hadn't been too vocal about what today was. And it was just as well, since his housemate was currently a cat, Laurie was long gone back to Florida, and he had to work tonight anyway. But when he got to Caritas, he still mixed himself an appropriate drink, and picked a few others for the specials board.

People thought that about his tank tops a lot. Personally, Mike was pretty sure it had to do with how he filled them out. Just a hunch.

"Indeed they are," he replied easily. "Last two are gin and vodka based, respectively. First's... kind of equally lemonade, vanilla vodka, and coconut rum."

It made sense as far as hunches went. Alice hadn't really allowed herself to get distracted over things like those though.

"I'm pretty sure I've drank all those things. Separately," she said. Maybe not coconut rum, but lots of rum surely made up for it. "They sound like women's drinks thought."

Mike shrugged. "Well, we've also got all the usual basics covered, so whatever you want, we can probably provide."

He wasn't feeling real chatty or anything, but hey, start of the vacation, time to celebrate.

Mike nodded. "Man who knows what he wants," he said, already reaching for a glass. "I can dig that. Coming right up."

"Won't even try to sell tonight's specials to you."

Kitty was on her way out of the office after doing some more of the fun administrative work, and figured she could stop by the bar for a bit. "Interesting specials lineup."

It wasn't a huge secret.

"Should I be saying happy birthday?" Kitty asked. She hadn't pieced together how the stripper one went along with the theme yet, no.

"I promise I won't even start weeping about it or anything."

"Hi, Mike!" Stiles plopped Derek on top of the bar before taking a seat on a stool. "I have to force Derek to watch me drink booze 'cause he doesn't have any opposable thumbs to steal my drinks with."

Derek, predictably, hissed at that. He hissed at just about everything.

Mike gave Derek an amused look. But not too amused, because he didn't want to get scratched or anything.

"Okay, Stiles," he said. "I'm pretty sure I've never been explicitly told not to serve you, so what can I get you?"

"Pfft he wishes. My little Der-bear is fuzzier than usual this week," Stiles said, reaching out to give Derek a pat on the head and wasn't surprised when he took at swipe at his hand. "Oh get a sense of humor, Derek."

So Allie might have left Tiny in charge and cut out of the Devil's Nest a little early. There were only so much of the sounds of the Seventies a poor vampire could take.

Besides, it had been a while since she'd talked to Mike.

"Hey, Allie," Mike greeted her back with an easy smile now that his player wasn't faceplanting into bed anymore. "Slow night at the club that shall not be named?"
