From The Causeway To The Community Center, Sunday Night

Right. Tamsin had spent the past hour or three killing things in front of the community center. It was getting old.

Luckily for her, she still had the megaphone.

"HEY!" she barked. "ANYBODY WHO WANTS THIS STUPID BRAIN-SQUEEZER TO GO AWAY AND CAN KICK SOME ASS, GET OUT HERE."

This also alerted every monster in the general area, but she didn't care.

"IF YOU CAN'T KICK SOME ASS, BUT YOU KNOW SOME CHILDREN WHO LOVE CHRISTMAS OR WHATEVER, OR YOU KNOW HOW TO PARTY, MAKE SURE YOU GET TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER BRIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW."

She lowered the megaphone and cleared her throat. Loudly.

"OKAY, NOW LET'S MAKE THIS TOWN SAFE."

Loon Drive

This road stretches from the Community Center past Turtle & Canary and Chilly Boulder to the intersection of Loon and Griffin near the Portalocity Center.

There are a fair deal of demons and spiders and other menaces out on the loose, but the herd has been thinned here some.

Raven had gone with her favorite big muscly form, her hands shaped into talons as she ripped into a giant spider.

"Okay," she huffed as it shrieked and gnashed at her face with its mandibles. "I'm beginning to see Kathy's point about you." She kept tearing until it finally stopped moving, then turned to look for the next nasty thing. "I've got to get me some real weapons."

The Keeper would probably scold her to no end if she knew about this, which was why Merrill wasn't going to tell her that fighting things all weekend had been fun. She'd never really gotten the chance to test the limits of what she could do before, and she was reveling in it now: flinging stone projectiles at corpses, setting hexes of torment on spiders, occasionally trying (with limited success) to petrify other creatures, interspersed with firing off bolts of energy from her staff.

"You brought this on yourself, you know," she informed a fallen foe.

Isabela's bottle had been sacrificed to the cause of setting some ugly spiders on fire, but she was far from sober as she waded into the fray, her aim with her knives surprisingly steady.

"Somebody needs a spanking," she called out, far too cheerfully.

Griffin Way

Griffin Way leads down past Freedom Arms, Caritas and MHA to the Causeway.

The going isn't as thin here. Better be careful.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Atton muttered, as he walked down Griffin Way in the direction of the Causeway, one of his two lightsabers lit.

It had been a while since she'd had a really good fight, and Tahiri might even admit she'd missed it a bit.

That might be fairly easy to tell, given the small but fierce grin on her face as her lightsaber flashed.

Alana was on her way down Griffin Way, Heartbreaker at the ready, when she spotted a message written on the side of a Dumpster that somehow seemed to be there for her.

It read Your exact words to me were, 'Please shoot it in my twat.' in pink cursive.

"That's just rude," she grumbled, and glared at before turning to find something to shoot.

Jessica had been heading out from her apartment to the Trooper Station to see what calls were coming in today when she saw a few spiders milling about. "You're dumb, Irony!" she yelled as she started to fight. Fortunately, she wasn't messing around. Web Tasers were on and those monsters were in for a shock.

The Causeway

There's mist over the Causeway, but it doesn't seem to be muddling all entry and exit.

Which is why it's the most heavily defended.

Eliot loaded himself up when he heard Tamsin's announcement. He'd added throwing knives and shuriken to his sword and headed into the fray.

Tamsin'd been by the community center for too long.

She had a whole bunch of throwing stars and a sword out. She was going to go right into that Causeway and show these idiots what a Valkyrie could do.

"Mayor," Eliot greeted, pausing after he sliced one of Hardison's 'techno-zombies' in half. "How ya doin'?"

Tali had her pistol holstered and her shotgun in her hands -- she hadn't expected to find husks here, but at least she hadn't seen any geth accompanying them, so that was a relief. And then there were all the other creatures too (including the giant spiders that reminded her of rachni for some strange reason).

She definitely didn't want any of the husks getting loose on the mainland, so she headed to the causeway to help with the defenses there.

And she had a new toy to try out, one she'd been working on for a while now.

"Okay, Chatika," she said to the combat drone hovering beside her. "Let's go see what you can do."

Of course, of course Jono was throwing himself right where the baddies were the thickest. The wrappings were off before he even left the house, and while his head was pounding from the effort it took to ward off all the island's emotions on top of the mental chatter he already had to fill out in his day-to-day, he was focused enough on his task that any mocking from one of his other selves went more or less ignored.

He'd picked up a pretty sturdy baseball bat along the way, in case he ran into one of those fire-resistant bastards that he'd bumped into with Dante before, but for the most part, he was more than happy to just blow these monsters to kingdom come.

Especially the Jhinka. He still had a bit of a vendetta against those ones.

Sword swinging, Allie smiled fiercely as she stabbed on the of the spiders. Despite the occasional call of "Little Bird" she'd hear, she was almost enjoying herself.

"If this is supposed to be revenge for your smaller but no less ugly brother or something, I'd like to waste my breath pointing out that I tried to save that guy," Bo grumbled at the loinclothed escapee from the WWE who blocked her path. "It's not my fault the Morrigan doesn't know the meaning of the word mercy."

His only response was to flick a forked tongue in her direction and take another swing at her with both hammers at once.

When Jaina had canceled her trip home to deal with whatever messed up thing Fandom was dealing with this time, she of course had spent the last couple days killing things, however handwavily. And sure, her shielding wasn't working as well and she'd been reliving Jacen's last moments too much, but she could compartmentalize enough to fight calmly.

She was having a harder time with the half-glimpses of herself on a throne next to Jag hurling Force lightning at someone, but she was a master of repression and fighting was cathartic.

Those half-glimpses could keep Tahiri's visions of herself as a fully-shaped Yuuzhan Vong warrior, also hurling Force lightning, company then.

"Just like old times, huh?" Tahiri's efforts had taken her from Griffin Way down to the causeway by now, and her smile was a little bit strained from the effort of trying (and mostly failing) to fight off everyone else's emotions.

The Rest of Fandom

Sure, clearing these roads out means there's a clear path from the Causeway to the Community Center and onto the school campus, but there's plenty more of Fandom that might need help leaving their homes for the party tomorrow morning.

Like, say, 'killing all the evil things overnight' help.

Blossom was in the skies, attacking when she saw anything and everything. She'd woken with nightmares and all day she'd been plagued by.... things just out of the corner of her eye. The worst had been just before hearing the Mayor's message: she'd seen Mei sitting in a corner crying and, before fading away, the little one had looked up with her big brown eyes and asked if papa was coming back from heaven soon.

This all made for a very emo dangerous superhero.
