The Beach, Wednesday Evening

It was the end of the term. A bunch of people Dante knew were leaving. Others were staying, but they still deserved a decent send-off to the summer. Besides, screw it, they'd all earned a distraction. So after sending text messages to a whole bunch of people on the island, Dante pulled on a pair of black and red swim trunks (hey, Isabela had asked), bought a cheap one-use barbecue... thing and a ton of meat, and made his way down to the beach.

Picked up a lost volleyball on the way, too.

And okay, if he could rope someone else into manning the barbecue, he would. But right now, he'd set it up, get a nice fire going, and then fantasize about Iz and Ada playing beach volleyball.

[[ wait for the ocd up! dante's ICly invited only those who know who they are, but it's a public party on a public beach, the more the merrier! eta: some use of weed in the comments. ]]

Of course Isabela was there, she'd been promised swim-trunks, and while she hadn't yet weaponised her breasts more gone for the bikini, it wasn't like her normal clothes left much to the imagination.

"Hello, Isabela," Ezra greeted her, wandering over once he was done with his latest piece of barbecued meat. "Looking wonderful, as always."

"I could say the same about you, Ezra." Isabela grinned back at him. "It's been too long since we talked. Or had sex."

Ezra snickered. "I know, darling," he replied, nodding. "It's a good thing we're making up for the former right now. We'll have to try and make sure to make up for the latter soon, before I leave."

There was no reason for being coy. Zero.

Isabela dearly enjoyed flirting, but not at the cost of actually having sex, especially not goodbye sex. "I'll make sure you get a memorable send off."

Ringo mock-scowled when she spotted Isabela. For the record, Ringo was really bad at mock-scowling, there was always too much of her grin leaking through.

"You're supposed to be my little sibling, and you look way better than I do today. Totally not fair." Not that Ringo looked bad, she had the anime heroine body to pull off a bikini pretty well, but she didn't carry herself like Isabela did, which could make a pretty big difference.

"It's all about the attitude, kitten," Isabela said cheerfully. "You'll get the hang of it."

"Kitten?" Ringo repeated with a little laugh. "Really?"

She shook her head in amusement. "Got any good pointers?"

None that wouldn't end in runaway metaphors.

"I don't know, it's one of those things where you only really do it when you stop thinking about it."

"I think I know what you mean, but that doesn't mean I know how to do it."

Ringo shrugged dismissively. "Ah, well. Maybe I'll just have to get used to you having the attitude advantage or something."

"And before you know it you'll have attitude of your own," Isabela said encouragingly.

Or something.

Ringo laughed. "I suppose we'll see." Another shrug. "I'll admit that it's not super-high on my priority list right now?"

Grin.

"Though it's definitely a bit higher having seen you today." It was hard to ignore that kind of attitude, and Ringo really was wondering how people would see her if she was a bit more like Isabela.

"I wasn't aware Fandom had water nymphs," Hyacinthe said, sauntering up to Isabela. He was also wearing his usual clothing; he hadn't come back expecting a beach party even if he'd had some kind of bathing costume.

Which he didn't anyway.

The only reason Isabela owned one was because Dante'd suggested it the other day, so she was hardly going to discourage Hyacinthe wearing what the Maker gave him instead.

"Oh, they're very hard to find but worth it," she said with a smile. "How's the island been treating you, sweet thing?"

Interestingly enough that Hyacinthe had fled back to Night's Doorstep for a little while. Which he was most certainly not saying aloud to most people. Not when he could give said people a charming grin and reply, "Much better now that I've gotten to see you again. We've never truly had a chance to get to know one another, which is a true pity I believe."

Isabela knew her strength lay in distracting people from their troubles rather than soothing them, so she'd hardly be insulted by the misdirection.

"A true tragedy, that."

Hyacinthe was all for Isabela's brand of distraction. "Fortunately, one such tragedy that is easily remedied," he pointed out.
