The Boards, Thursday Evening
Jono had had big plans for tonight at the Boards, but the events of the last few weeks had thrown something of a wrench in the gears when it came to organizing the showcase he'd wanted to hold.
... Or even finding people to perform in it. Which meant that he was going to have to adjust his plans somewhat.
A lot.
There was a new sign up where the old one had been.
Due to Unforeseen Circumstances, The Fandom Showcase Has Been Cancelled.
Come in for an Open Mic Instead!
There's Beer.
When all else failed, bribe people to participate. And if anybody needed Jono, he'd be on the stage playing his guitar for the duration of the evening or until somebody else showed up who wanted to perform. Whichever came first.

Re: Arrive/Mingle!
It'd been... something of a week. He had no intentions of getting on stage and doing shit, but beer?
Fuck, he'd swagger on in for free booze.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Really, he probably could have thought the 'beer' part out a little more.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
He wandered over to the drinks, plucking out a bottle. "Have we hit the '70s yet, old man?"
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Not what he was asking, Jono.
//I'll take requests, though, if there's anything you're dying to hear. If I'm up onstage for the rest of the bloody evening, somebody had better yell 'Freebird' at me at least once.//
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Jono was going to behave himself and not look at the boy in horror, at least.
//Lynyrd Skynyrd? It's nine bloody minutes long and...// He waved a hand around a little bit, searching for words, before just kind of playing a bit of the opening. //And... Christ, you're young.//
And he felt that much older, thank you.
//Now we've hit the seventies.//
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
"Eugh," he proclaimed. "If you're gonna play old guy music, at least play something decent, like Layla or something."
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
That was basically going to forever be his sticking point.
At least until he had a mouth again. Someday. Maybe. Probably not around here, all things considered.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
He popped the cap off of his beer and took a swig. "...You got any other guitars around here?"
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Owning a music shop was dangerous, okay?
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Pinkie played drums, Jono knew that. But that still wasn't exactly a band.
Well. It could be. Did anybody on the island play bass?
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Because hell, he was curious, now.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
It was both acoustic and red. He figured it met the minimum requirements, anyway.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
He held the guitar out to Dante, raising an eyebrow in question.
//Wanna give her a try?//
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
//It's different,// he allowed, //but the basic principles are more or less the same. The sound you'll get out of it is the big difference, and it'll sit differently because the body's larger, but I enjoy playing around with it, even if it doesn't have the same sustain as an electric.//
Or because of it. He liked the sound better on acoustic when he was playing fingerstyle, for a start.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
He wandered over to a seat. The acoustic seemed like a sit-down kind of guitar, and as much as he enjoyed being a dick about a whole range of topics-- guitars were sacred.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Or at least in his experience they were.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Which was why he favoured his own electric guitars over most else.
//But now and again, maybe you don't want to growl.//
Rarely, perhaps, but there were moments.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Though he was a weird kind of tense right now, and plucking the strings was almost soothing.
