The Boards, Thursday Evening
Jono had had big plans for tonight at the Boards, but the events of the last few weeks had thrown something of a wrench in the gears when it came to organizing the showcase he'd wanted to hold.
... Or even finding people to perform in it. Which meant that he was going to have to adjust his plans somewhat.
A lot.
There was a new sign up where the old one had been.
Due to Unforeseen Circumstances, The Fandom Showcase Has Been Cancelled.
Come in for an Open Mic Instead!
There's Beer.
When all else failed, bribe people to participate. And if anybody needed Jono, he'd be on the stage playing his guitar for the duration of the evening or until somebody else showed up who wanted to perform. Whichever came first.

Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
It'd been... something of a week. He had no intentions of getting on stage and doing shit, but beer?
Fuck, he'd swagger on in for free booze.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Really, he probably could have thought the 'beer' part out a little more.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
He wandered over to the drinks, plucking out a bottle. "Have we hit the '70s yet, old man?"

The beer was a nice bonus.
"Plan's to get folks drunk enough they won't mind gettin' up on stage and maybe makin' a fool of themselves, ain't it."
It was not, over all, a bad plan.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
So far, he'd had a better turnout for the actual Open Mic than he had for even the tryouts of the showcase, so Jono was thinking that maybe defaulting to beer from here on out was definitely the way to go.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Caritas was never going to look the same to Eliot again. He was firmly anti-zombie now.

He did bring a few bottles of decent but not extravagant wine, and several trays of gourmet finger sandwiches, though.
Not made with real fingers.
"Is the piano still in tune?" he asked.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
And Jono really wasn't the one with the piano knowhow, here, so...

Take to the Stage!
Re: Take to the Stage!
She found a bunch of big empty paint buckets backstage (she also found an actual drum kit but boring) and sent them skidding out to center stage. Then she cartwheeled in, beamed at the audience, and started drumming.
By the end of it she was totally glowing, floating, and rocking some strange hair and pony ears. Which meant she'd kiiiiiiilled it!
Re: Take to the Stage!
And yet.
Re: Take to the Stage!
. . . Right, probably because that was the last time he'd lived the kind of life that sometimes involved stages and guitar playing.
"Um. Hi." He strummed the guitar once, stalling, then rolled his eyes and leaned back into the mic. "This is all Parker's fault."
Then he shut up and got to playing.
Re: Take to the Stage!
Then she was busy swaying in her seat, humming along with Eliot's voice. He was so good at this. And she liked that song, okay? Especially after visiting Kathy's world.
Re: Take to the Stage!
even if I'd slept right through it. "Wooo!" he cheered, because it was fun to be That Boyfriend. "That's our guy! Ain't he great? Love you!"And also...
"Hall and Oates!"

Talk to Jono
Anyway, he'd be taking the occasional break from playing in order to sit around and wonder if maybe he bought too much beer he couldn't drink.
