Devil's Nest, Saturday, January 27. 2018
The nicest part of winter was how quickly the sun went down in the evenings--gave a vampire a lot more time to get things done before bleeding from the ears and eyes, catching fire, and dying, etc., etc.
Finally back from settling some accounts in Louisiana (and jacking up the prices at Fangtasia in preparation for the Mardi Gras crowds), Eric was back in Fandom, settled into his normal spot well away from the bar.
Vampires don't serve humans, thank you very much. That's what Tiny was for.

Re: Tables!
He wasn't going to let himself chase that train of thought.
"I imagine that's taken you some interesting places, huh?"
Okay. He wasn't going to let himself chase that train of thought far.
Re: Tables!
"If we're defining interesting as having a lot of people trying to shoot you, yeah."
And the occasional actually historically significant site.
Re: Tables!
To say the least.

Re: Tables!
So Kanan probably didn't want to know.
Re: Tables!
"Doing what?"
Why were you going down this rabbit hole, Kanan? Did you enjoy freaking out?
Re: Tables!
Trust to the narrative, and believe the blatant lie, Kanan, it would save you many sleepless nights.
Re: Tables!
"And he's your former employer?"
That was probably the safer route to take this conversation. Or at least the marginally saner one.
Re: Tables!
"He terminated my contract."
Beat.
"By throwing me out an airlock."
Re: Tables!
"Former employer it is," he agreed. "Hell, that must've been some contract."
Re: Tables!
Re: Tables!
He'd have to take notes. He'd mostly just trusted the Force and gotten a timely rescue, that one time.
Re: Tables!
Frantic, frantic planning.
Re: Tables!
Re: Tables!
Yes, the cold, harsh, unforgiving vacuum of space had been safest option.
Re: Tables!
"Actually, that makes perfect sense," he allowed.
