Devil's Nest, Saturday, January 27. 2018
The nicest part of winter was how quickly the sun went down in the evenings--gave a vampire a lot more time to get things done before bleeding from the ears and eyes, catching fire, and dying, etc., etc.
Finally back from settling some accounts in Louisiana (and jacking up the prices at Fangtasia in preparation for the Mardi Gras crowds), Eric was back in Fandom, settled into his normal spot well away from the bar.
Vampires don't serve humans, thank you very much. That's what Tiny was for.

Re: Tables!
Look, with a reaction like that, Kanan could almost feel better about his own life choices, here.

"That would be Hera," Kanan replied, smiling maybe a little bit like an idiot. "Finest pilot I've ever seen. Which I know in a group like this is probably a hard sell, but, well... you'd have to see her fly to get it, I guess."

Re: Tables!
"Hey, I did specify that she was the finest I'd seen," he noted. "And I wouldn't exactly call it hero worship."
That would be... weird. Awkward. Both.
He hero-worshipped her father, though.
Re: Tables!
Re: Tables!
He wasn't going to deny it.

He reached for his drink and took a mouthful, instead.
"I've got better uses for my credits than ancient real estate, anyway," he replied. "Hera doesn't need me standing up for her, here. Her ability speaks for itself. I'm just crew."
Re: Tables!
"Oh, you're one of those," Atton mused.
Re: Tables!
But now he figured Atton was being rude about Hera for no reason except that Kanan also happened to like Hera, and it was rubbing him the wrong way.
"One of what?"
If he sounded faintly exasperated now, it was... because he was faintly exasperated, really.
Re: Tables!
"One of those poor bastards who falls into a crew following a real badass around," Atton said.
You know, like him.
Re: Tables!
"That... pretty much sums it up, yeah," he admitted. "She's got some bigger rebellion in mind. I was perfectly happy being the useless idiot doing odd jobs anywhere the need for that rebellion wasn't."
Re: Tables!
Re: Tables!
It was at least in part because he wasn't about to admit he'd come just shy of begging to be let onto that pretty girl's ship.
"There haven't been any Sith yet," he said, and damn, did he sound thankful about that. "But there have been more than a few backwaters and at least a couple of close calls. Keeps things interesting."
It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye, Jarrus.

Re: Tables!
Okadiah, on the other hand, was not. Neither was Yelkin, or Skelly, or Gord, or Lal. Zaluna had been blinded.
They were a few years away from any exploding planets, really.

Like he was.
Re: Tables!
It was a lot easier to not get dead that way.
