The nicest part of winter was how quickly the sun went down in the evenings--gave a vampire a lot more time to get things done before bleeding from the ears and eyes, catching fire, and dying, etc., etc.

Finally back from settling some accounts in Louisiana (and jacking up the prices at Fangtasia in preparation for the Mardi Gras crowds), Eric was back in Fandom, settled into his normal spot well away from the bar.

Vampires don't serve humans, thank you very much. That's what Tiny was for.

This was Fandom, Theron. Atton'd learned to never assume somebody didn't have a connection to something important.

He raised his eyebrows. "Any relation to Bastila?"

Kark.

"...no?"

Yes.

Atton rolled his eyes.

"Relax," he said. "Nobody cares."

Theron snorted. "Which is why you immediately thought of my great however many grandmother," he said. "Though you're right about no one caring when the great bloodline of Revan throws Force-blind."

The sad part was he couldn't even blame it on being drunk, kriffing bar with its stupid hangup.

"I thought of your great however many grandmother because she wanders into the Temple at all hours and gets prissy all over the furniture," Atton said lightly. "Wanted to make sure she wasn't bugging me from afar."

Yeah, he heard the Force-blind thing. He didn't care.

That made ~~one~~ two of them.

"Well, the Temple survived the priss." A Sith army on the other hand... "You don't look like a Jedi." And it was hardly like Master Zho had been an exemplar of Jedi decorum.

"Rude," Atton told him. "Also wrong."

"So those are special Jedi robes?"

"They're what 1/6th of the Jedi in my time wear," Atton said. "So yeah."

"Kark. You're Rand."

Well, at least it wasn't worshipful recognition?

See, that was a comforting, pre-Surik kind of response to get from somebody.

"Got it in one," he drawled.

Yeah, well, of the Jedi of Atton's time Theron would want to deal with right now, the one who'd actually fought for Revan ranked pretty low on the list. Only slightly above Bastila, actually.

"Oh, kark me dead."

"Aw, this feels like coming home to Nar Shaddaa," Atton said, rolling his eyes. "I feel all fuzzy."

Did Atton know Theron had taught himself to swear in Gamorrean?

Well, now he did.

Pause. "Okay, now it's getting old."

"Like you?"

Having a smart mouth was a.coping mechanism.

"Don't get smart with me just because you're an amoeba with grandmommy issues," Atton shot back.

Theron, honey, no.

In all his many years of fucking up, Atton had never had much of a chance to perfect his bitch plz face.

But he was getting some practice with it right now.

"I don't have grandmother issues."

The main source of his complete lack of issues were much more closely related. Bastila and Revan were just extremely large multipliers on top of that.

"Well, you definitely have some kind of issues, kid," Atton said, rolling his eyes.
