The nicest part of winter was how quickly the sun went down in the evenings--gave a vampire a lot more time to get things done before bleeding from the ears and eyes, catching fire, and dying, etc., etc.

Finally back from settling some accounts in Louisiana (and jacking up the prices at Fangtasia in preparation for the Mardi Gras crowds), Eric was back in Fandom, settled into his normal spot well away from the bar.

Vampires don't serve humans, thank you very much. That's what Tiny was for.

Yeah, when she’d been worried he wouldn't want to be around her, this did feel off to her.

“I know,” she said easily. “That’s why I’m not turning it into a thing.” Because if she was, she would have to address things, and she wasn’t up for that feeling tonight.

...Maybe that had hit an issue hard enough to turn it into a thing.
