Fandom High 20 Year Reunion Mixer, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Unlike most Fandom events that the alumni remember, this one was not a glitter-drenched nightmare, though it was a little dinosaur-themed, if "tasteful" and "dinosaur-themed" could be in the same room togther.

Think more giant palms, less Tino in a loincloth. There were drinks and snacks, music and nametags. Come on in, Fandomites! Tell us what you've been up to.

Paris made sure that her nametag had the all important "Doctor" in front of Paris Geller, put it onto the power suit that was awesome enough to make Hillary Clinton jealous and looked around for anyone she might remember.

Beaker had been teaching up at the school now for almost ten years (despite looking exactly the same) and had his own "BEAKER" name tag permanently stitched onto his lab coat after a few too many years of students thinking his name was "Meep", so he didn't need the school provided one.

He was pretty sure people would recognize him, anyway.

After his stint at the diner, Miguel came by the mixer, picked up a tag, and stuck it in his pocket. Hey, he'd been here over twenty years, doing the same things. If anybody didn't know him, that was their own lookout.

Lana wasn't even entirely sure why she'd come back here. Maybe there would be old friends, and maybe she could contact some people back home in a way she couldn't be traced, but...there was so much work to do, could she really afford the time?

Nevertheless, here she was, and wearing a nametag for nostalgia as much as anything.

Somewhere in the past hour, Dante had managed to wash the dried blood out of his hair. He had not, however, gotten a chance to shave.

He swaggered into the mixer in his long coat, kind of wishing he'd brought sunglasses. Right. Drinks table!

Owen wasn't sure what had drawn him back to the island. Nostalgia, perhaps? Did he even feel that anymore?

White eyes, set in a scarred face, skimmed across the mixer. Perhaps he sensed them all more than he saw them, but he set his jaw and kept moving until he found the food.

Prompto came in, remembering a time when je'd come into an event like this all decked out in Crownguard gear, but, considering there hadn't been a crown to guard for nearly seven years now, that would have been even weirder than an FH reuinion.

But he was there, with some reservations and a lot of awkwardness but determined to try and have a good time.

So, pretty much the same old Prompto, but...plus one bad beard and a whole lotta baggage, carefully trying to conceal his frequent coughing and praying a fit didnt strike him just at the wrong time.

Get ready to stretch your necks and add an extra up when chatting with the Zora Prince, because Sidon was here and looked exactly the same save for the extra foot and a half he'd grown in the last twenty years!

Still, he slapped a nametag proudly on his chest, just in case. It never hurt, at any rate. And it would be terribly exciting seeing how those more likely to change over such a small amount of time had done so!

Liam was one of those people the narrative was referring to- a combination of alien DNA and leaning hard into that whole kind-of-shapeshifting thing meant that over the past twenty years, he hadn't really changed all that much. Still, a nametag was secured.

... If nothing else, it would serve as a reminder for himself, that it was okay to respond to his own damn name now.

Sia didn't come to these things often, and really, she should have a nametag on for that reason. But there was also something about an empress wearing a nametag, and she was just not going to do it. Besides, most people here probably wouldn't know her even with one.

Sabine was still probably pretty easy to pick out. She looked different in that her armor was darker shades of colorful these days, and her hair was shorter, a solid maroon color currently.

She had a nametag, which she'd of course decorated, but she was carrying it around rather than slapping it on and risking her paint job. Really, anyone who knew her wouldn't need it anyway.

Jaina had come in for the reunion only this morning, which might have been how she missed the weirdness. Also, how she missed that there was weirdness until now.

Hernando was here because Sparkle had wanted to attend. He wasn't certain he'd know many of the people, but his husband knew just about everyone so here he was as arm candy for the evening.

His suit was impeccable with the clean lines and tailoring that indicated bespoke to those who could read such things. Black with subtle black embroidery for the outer garments over a white shirt with more subtle embroidery around the buttons. Sparkle's work, of course. He wouldn't have worn any other designer, especially not to an event on this island.

Face a little older, smile lines a little deeper around his eyes and the corners of his mouth, a little bit of silver at the temples, he didn't look much different than he had when he'd lived here.

Hernando picked up his nametag and situated it on a lapel, unable to repress the smile from seeing their names next to one another on the table. From the interior jacket pocket, he withdrew a metallic yellow glitter pen and offered it to Sparkle, in case he wanted to doctor up his own name tag.

Isabelle didn't look the same, but she definitely looked recognizable, even with her hair chopped way shorter than it had been in her student years.

But she got herself a nametag and a glass of something decent, then settled to watch the people, looking for familiar faces.

Hannibal looked just the same, unless you happened to catch sight of his fangs (though he was polite about not showing them). And he was here, though slightly disgruntled.

He'd woken up twenty years in the past. He was missing the current year's Eurovision for this?

Much like some people Kathy had also woken up alone, curled up on the couch in the back of Dite's. She was still stretching to get some of the kinks out of her back by the time she made it to the mixer. She was a long way from eighteen these days. Hell, she was a long way from twenty-two.

Some days - like today, when she looked around the island for faces that weren't there anymore - she felt it more than others.

For the most part, Yang looked the same. A little older, as though she was in her late twenties and not late thirties, and a little more tired. Twenty years of fighting Salem's forces was taking a toll.

The most dramatic change, however, was that her right arm was a state of the art, robotic, yellow-and-black metal prosthetic starting just above her elbow.

"Arg!" Which made it that much harder to put on a nametag. Yang's dexterity with her artificial hand was amazing. But gods did everything want to stick to the metal sometimes. She got the nametag on to her shirt -- not ruining her leather jacket, sorry, some things never changed -- and figured that was good enough and it was time to find the drinks.

She kinda wished Blake had been able to come with her, but she'd been needed on a mission, so Yang was here alone on a Ruby-mandated 'vacation.' ....mostly because she'd just about decked Qrow last week, and that was not a helpful emotional response when they needed all the hands they could get.

Kitty had a nametag on, and was looking for familiar faces before even getting it on. She was sure she'd recognize at least a couple people here, right?

And if not, she'd get a drink so she didn't look awkward.

Fenris had been invited back to the island and it had amused him to take a break and go. Not visibly older except for the addition of a few more old scars, he went to the Community Center and found his nametag.

He'd no sooner picked it up than he felt the Lyrium imbued in his skin begin to hum. Head snapping up, green eyes narrowed dangerously and he scanned the room. He'd never felt that hum here on the island before.

Spotting Anders - an Anders he recognized, the apostate demon-infested mage who'd turned terrorist and blown up the Chantry, kicking off a war that'd been long in the brewing. The man who'd single-handedly broken the spirit of the Hero of Kirkwall.. that Anders. He could feel his skin flush with anger, lips skinning back in a look that was nothing like a smile.

Twenty two years hadn't lessened his hate one whit. Not one. It had, however, gained him some self control. The years he'd spent on the island had allowed him to become accustomed to the multiverse's cruel little tricks and this? This was just one more.

Another look around the room, searching for faces he knew. Several he wouldn't mind catching up with. The one he was looking for.. wasn't here. Fjord wasn't here but that Anders was.

Fenris let the nametag fall from his fingers. There was no reason to stay here tonight and every reason to leave. Spinning on a heel, he marched right back out the door and into the night. He'd go find the liquor store and then maybe take a turn around the island and see if some version of Fjord was here somewhere else. Everyone else.. he could catch up with them later.

Like, Nina had no idea if she was even supposed to, or allowed, to be here given that basically everyone was super old and she was still, like, just fourteen.

But she was nosy and curious and it was an interesting distraction and really, if they didn't want her around, they'd just kick her out, right?

Until someone did that, Nina was going to amuse herself by taking pictures from the shadowy corners, figuring out if she knew anyone (how would she know anyone? they were all ancient and really, weirdly, some of them were still oddly familiar anyway), and stealing nibbles from the free food.
