Caritas- Tuesday (both daytime and after dark)
Kitty actually kind of hoped no one came in today because it meant they weren't out in the dark when it was terrible. She, of course, could just not be solid and not get into trouble, and she worked at a place where people who couldn't do that could be safe from whatever was out there.
So she was here, and preparing for a boring night. Boring was fine.
...She bet it wouldn't be too boring.
[Open! Caritas should be open before sunset so the alarm would go off during the shift. Please specify when you're coming in!

Re: After Dark
Get out.Rosa just shrugged again. "I'm not sure it's actually aware it's doing it," she admitted, recognizing that this was a conversation that she should never, ever need to have, "because, you know, it's an island, it's probably not aware of anything. But if it actually is doing this stuff consciously, then I just gained way more points on the Pro side of the 'Should I Burn This Whole Place Down to the Ground' list."
There were startlingly few Cons on that list, too, it should be noted.
Re: After Dark
She hadn't tried the causeway yet. She was rather missing having dwarves willing to try things like that for her.
Re: After Dark
"It hasn't gotten to the point where I feel it's worth the headache of leaving...yet."
Re: After Dark
Re: After Dark
otherfake names, but come on. When would that ever work here? "Detective Diaz. One of FPD's very own. The whole squad consists of me, a guy I'm pretty sure is from space, and a handful of clones in plastic armor. It's great."And her beer....was empty. She knew she told herself she was just going to have one or two, but this conversation was definitely calling for another, so she got Tino's attention by lifting her empty and quirking a brow.
Re: After Dark
not be NPC clonesspeak of. "You actually remind me a bit of the pirate. Same taste in clothes."Re: After Dark
Which wasn't, necessarily, a compliment.
Rosa's brow furrowed again, as she thought something over, a frown surfacing. "I want an ex-pirate with an impeccible and perfect sense of fashion in my stupid, deceptively quaint weird little dumb town," she decided. It would definitely make things more interesting during that one week where all she could do was notice all those stupid flat trooper butts. "Although...." Her head tilted a little as she seemed to drift onto another thought, "we did have Mayor McHotness on board at one point, but that was before my time. Probably a good thing, I would have never gotten any work done..."
She...might be rambling just a little. It had been a long, creepy night so far, okay? It was allowed.
Re: After Dark
She really hoped they were okay.
"Mayor McHotness? Please tell me that's not their actual name."
Re: After Dark
...yeah, she'd take that in a heartbeat.
"It's not," Rosa assured her. "It's just what I call her. Because, you know, she's the mayor. And...she's super hot." It was really self-explanatory. "Her real name is, like.....Tanis," oooh, so close, "or something."
Look, she was a good detective. She just didn't care enough to remember marginally trivial information like the name of the mayor sometimes.
Re: After Dark
"I see she makes quite the impression, then. Does she actually govern, or is she just there to look hot?"
Re: After Dark
She was a cop from New York. Her bar was set pretty low.
Re: After Dark
That's what she'd always done. Sure, at first that was because she tended to be the cause of the crisis, but that was beside the point.
Re: After Dark
Re: After Dark
"Where the hell did that curse land me?"
It was mostly rhetorical. She had really, really been hoping she'd be done with the giant, life-altering, monster-filled curses by now.
Re: After Dark
Good one, Mills.
"Fandom Island," Rosa sighed as she still provided an answer because, hey, you never did know when you were talking to someone who had no idea whatsoever what they were about to plunge themselves into, and she lifted her beer as if in a toast. "It sucks, but, hey, at least the safest place on the island also has booze."
And there went down another one.
"Oh, and also?" she added, since apparently, she was feeling helpful. "Don't try to attack anyone in here or else you'll end up in the pond in the park. Or the alley, I hear, but it always sends me to the pond."
Because it was always, always funnier that way.
Re: After Dark
"You attack people a lot, Detective Diaz?"
Re: After Dark
"No," she said, "I'm a pascifist. I wouldn't hurt a fly."
Re: After Dark
If it were, her carefully rebuilt karma was screwed just having walked over here from the diner.
Re: After Dark
"No," she said, again, but this time actually sincere, "not often. Only when it's pretty much deserved."
And just the one person, too, actually, now that she thought about it.
"There was also," she added, partly to distract from that point, and also, because it might be helpful, "this one time when I got stuck halfway in the bar, and I figured kicking someone would be the best way to get out of it short of sending for a chainsaw."

Re: After Dark
Re: After Dark
"Sounds like you handled that, then," she said. "Though it's good to know that not even the inanimate objects can be trusted around here."
