Homecoming 2019, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

This year, the folks at the Student Council had decided on a Homecoming theme of cyberpunk fairytales - with all the creepy stuff going on, a positive, brighter spin on the genre would surely be appreciated, right? Neon-painted billboards of castles and princesses covered the walls, next to glitter-covered robots (because there always needed to be glitter) wearing bright translucent dresses and leather jackets.

The creepy paintings didn't really take away from the effect, especially since they'd been covered in glitter too. Take that, island!

Janet hadn't done the homecoming thing before, so she played it a little safe with her dress, which... had glitter on it already.

Tisarwat had arrived a bit later, since it had taken her longer to get herself ready for the dance than she'd anticipated. It wasn't her clothing that was the problem. One of the benefits of being an officer, she supposed, is that she was mostly just wearing the uniform she usually did, only with her nicest pair of gloves (that she doubted anyone would notice, anyway).

So the really dressed up part for her would be her hair, which, of course, needed to be elaborate and interesting, but she'd have to do it herself. But she'd managed to twist it up and lace it with neon-colored yarn and beads to fit the theme as well as she could understand it. Being in Student Council helped her understand the idea behind the dance a little better, but she was mostly just looking forward to having a good time, letting her brain take a break from all her heist planning, and just relax and have fun.

It was entirely possible that this was the only time you would ever- ever- see Sabine in a dress. She definitely didn't do ruffles. But she'd also fallen in love with the print and color enough that she would deal with some very mild unease in exchange for showing that off.

Of course the creepy paintings were still a thing today, so she was going to regret this a lot if anything attacked.

It was Tip's last Homecoming, and she was damn well going to go in style. Even if she was feeling a little melancholy this week.

Nostalgia was a hell of a drug. Especially when you were seventeen and thus wired to be overwrought anyway.

Prompto was so there, and so glad that breakfast in Paris plus Sad Birthday Cupcake didn't wind up leaving his Kingsglaive uniform from fitting too tightly.

Sidon had no outfit to show off, because Sidon? Still not wearing clothes, but he did out on his fancier cravat and a few of his shinier pieces of jewelry. For a Zora dressing up for an event such as this, it was very literally the little things that counted!

Wayne owned two suits: one for funerals (and welcome picnics) and one for weddings.

And homecoming dances, apparently, now, because this was the one for weddings.

At least here he wouldn't have to worry about being accussed of only wearing it to impress someone, which was ironic, because he definitely was hoping he would.

Nina's dress had been an absolute steal even if, like, she was never going to get all the glitter out of it after this.

The thing she was more proud of was her hair, with black ribbons.

Prompto had promised Sabine he'd bust out on the dance floor. He...was definitely going to bust out on the dance floor even if he hadn't promised Sabine, and he still had a lot more to learn of Earth music, so he just told the DJ to play something that he could really feel, and so he didn't even know what to expect when he got out there.

But...

Oh. My. GOOOOODDDDDDD.

PERFECTION.

Now if only everyone else would ge tup and get out here, but, hey, if he wound up being the only one out there just freakin' feeling it, so be it!

He had some things to work out right now, okay? And dancing was a good way to do it.

After a quick stop at the DJ booth to put in the request, Prompto resumed dragging Sabine out onto the dance floor, then swung her around in a little circle before letting her go so they could really start getting their groove one.

Rosa was sort of running out of canon dresses to wear to these things. Had she already worn this one? Probably. Did she care? Not even a little. She was mostly just here to people-watch, anyway, and keep an eye out for disasters, and maybe place bets on when the punch got spiked and by who and whether or not it would be a student or an adult. Or even herself.

And this was her life now. Yay.

...but at least she did have the fact that one of her students had gotten eaten by that rug trap yesterday to cheer her up a little.

It was always a little weird going to these when Kitty had never gone to homecoming as a student, but she always tended to enjoy herself, at least.
