Outside MCA- Thursday afternoon

Rey understood the concept of a kiddie pool, but she didn't know why she found one in her apartment.

Then there was the slow, very careful process of dragging it out through the hall and trying so hard not to spill anything on the way. She mostly managed! But really, what was she going do with it in her place? It wasn't even like she could empty it in there.

So, uh, there was going to be a kiddie pool outside the apartments, because she had no way of knowing that everyone got one.

Liam grimaced, because... well. Any attempt on his part to get rid of the one that had showed up at his place this morning had been met with impassioned protests on the part of the mice.

"I had to go out and buy a tarp earlier this morning to put underneath the one that showed up at my place," he admitted. "It's mitigating the damage somewhat."

"For you. I'll just have to deal with either mice upset that it's gone, or mice demanding I purchase them a new one," Liam sighed. "Unless," he looked briefly hopeful. "Maybe they'll get bored of it."

"Maybe," Liam said, although he didn't sound entirely convinced. "I suppose if we kept it in their room it wouldn't be too bad."

Yes, the mice had their own room.

"Yeah," Liam confirmed, smiling a little because Rey's narrative wasn't wrong, it was totally adorable, even if it was also just a matter of practicality. "The mice in Verity's family home normally live in the walls and the attic, but she didn't want them carving holes in the walls of a building she didn't actually own, so when she moved here she made sure to rent a place with a spare room."

If and when they ever got around to starting a family they'd have to figure out alternate arrangements, of course, but that was a bridge they'd cross when they came to it.

"Just their dollhouse, mainly," Liam explained. "But they've got a lot of stuff."

Like a Chromebook. A Switch. A collection of lizard skulls. You know, normal mice stuff.

"Stuff," Liam nodded. "Like their computer. Or this collection of lizard skulls I've decided not to ask about."

"And a tumblr account," Liam confirmed. "They're very fond of capslock."

To his eternal chagrin.

"Tumblr? It's a website where people go to argue about their favorite TV shows and movies. But also social justice issues." Liam didn't know too much about it either, to be honest. This was just what he'd gleaned from the few times he'd seen the mice scrolling the website.

"Dance or Die, of course," Liam said, naming the competition show Verity had once been a finalist on. "But also Galaxy Quest and that superhero show about guy who runs really fast- Speedy? Probably others too, they have a lot of free time."

Liam could hardly blame her, he'd been equally enamored of the mice when he'd first met them. Now, of course, they were just a part of his everyday life, but that didn't mean he had any less affection for them.

"You really do need to come over some time and meet them," Liam grinned at her. "I'm sure they'd love you."

"You'd be lucky if you got them to stop once they got started," Liam snickered.

And if there was one thing the mice loved nearly as much as their gods- or cheese and cake- it was an audience of any sort.

"I said something like that myself, once upon a time."

It should be noted that the only thing that had changed since then was that he was now rather thoroughly wrapped around the mices' tiny, adorable paws.

"It really isn't," Liam confirmed.
