Outside MCA- Thursday afternoon

Rey understood the concept of a kiddie pool, but she didn't know why she found one in her apartment.

Then there was the slow, very careful process of dragging it out through the hall and trying so hard not to spill anything on the way. She mostly managed! But really, what was she going do with it in her place? It wasn't even like she could empty it in there.

So, uh, there was going to be a kiddie pool outside the apartments, because she had no way of knowing that everyone got one.

"Oh, lovely! Another pool!" Jaskier said, soaking in his own one in the shade. Because his delicate, pale skin, Rey. He couldn't survive in the harsh rays of the unforgiving sun.

Rey looked over at him and sighed. "So this is just a thing today," she realized.

"Is it?" He was honestly just taking advantage of cool water. Someone didn't know how the AC in his apartment worked yet.

"Well, unless you just had that laying around," she conceded. Maybe he did! She didn't know his life.

DAMN RIGHT SHE DIDN'T.

"Oh, I thought perhaps they were complimentary?"

The short, surly manager hadn't been very helpful on that matter.

"I guess they are, in the same way that we had pillow forts popping up all over a while ago," Rey considered.

"Is that something I ought to be on the lookout for?" he asked, sitting up to give the pretty woman his full attention.

"So you've got one of those too, huh?" For a minute there he thought it was just something his apartment did. He would not have been surprised if Danny gave him the weird apartment in the building.

"It's something that appears to be happening today," she said with a nod. "At least now it's outside."

"I'm impressed you managed to get yours out here." Even if Silver had both legs he didn't think he could manage it. Namely because he would have gotten bored with the process and probably leave it out in the hallway after a few minutes.

"It took... a while," she admitted. "And I should probably clean the hall."

"A little water never hurt anybody," he said with a wave of his hand. "I'm John, by the way. Do you live in this building too?"

"Rey," she said. "I'm in #1."

Better than having to levitate this thing downstairs!

"Ah, we're neighbors then," he said. "I'm in #2."

So get used to that "step, thump, step thump" noise that was him walking around.

"Hello, Silver!" Jaskier was just going to live in this pool until some kind soul explained central air and how to make it work.

Silver did not know why he wasn't surprised by the sight of Jaskier in the tiny pool. He would later examine this and be horrified by the fact he was getting used to this place.

"Hello, Jaskier," he said, unable to keep from smiling. "You look like you're enjoying yourself."

"It's certainly better than the heat." Which could piss right off.

"It is rather oppressive, isn't it?" And still he would not get rid of his layers. "I'll never get used to it."

Believe it or not the weather was actually even more humid in Nassau. But only just barely.

"I feel like we're on a bog. Near a volcano." AND HE HATED IT.

Liam was merely passing by, as unlike the others he didn't live in this particular building. But then he spotted Rey and the kiddie pool, and he had to stop and say hi.

"I'm not sure what it is with this island and children's things," he commented, thinking of the blanket forts of not too long ago.

"It has been quite the theme this year," Rey conceded. "This one's fine, but not indoors."

Liam grimaced, because... well. Any attempt on his part to get rid of the one that had showed up at his place this morning had been met with impassioned protests on the part of the mice.

"I had to go out and buy a tarp earlier this morning to put underneath the one that showed up at my place," he admitted. "It's mitigating the damage somewhat."

"At least it's probably temporary?"

Maybe. Remember the forts.

"For you. I'll just have to deal with either mice upset that it's gone, or mice demanding I purchase them a new one," Liam sighed. "Unless," he looked briefly hopeful. "Maybe they'll get bored of it."

"It could happen!" she agreed. "And if not, maybe you can keep the replacement somewhere else."
