Thanks to Apu and the very nice card that he'd gotten the whole T&C crew to sign and some flowers that she could only assumed he'd picked up last minute when he went to Covent to get Astrid's signature, Summer knew it was, apparently, World Redhead Day (which she figured would have just been St. Patrick's, but okay). And while she didn't usually buy into all that crap that she was pretty sure he just made up, she also wasn't usually staring down the barrel of a long weekend of forced family camping, either, so, you know what? Yeah. They were totally celebrating World Redhead Day at Caritas that Wednesday because this redhead was going to need it to survive her upcoming weekend.

Probably.

Actually, there was a good chance she'd need a lot more to survive this weekend, knowing her family, but...

Is it morally or professionally frowned upon to encourage doing your own jello shots while on the job?

Probably. But Summer was pretty sure it paled in comparrison to forcing your daughter to go camping with your whole family, especially when it meant missing out on a party to do so!

"The S'mores one," Summer informed Seivarden, sneering a little in its general direction. "Not, like, from a culinary standpoint or a flavor aesthetic, but, like, totally just on principle alone."

And she was already lining all four of them up for her, of course.

She smiled. "I hear the weekly jello shot theme is going well."

"Oh, hey, Breq," Summer grinned with her greeting, not even bothering to hide any speculative sort of looks that may have shifted between Breq and Seivarden, what with them coming in together and her even being here and whatnot. "How's it going? And, yeah, it really is. Think you want to try some tonight?"

If Breq noticed those looks, it didn't show, but Seivarden did, smiling as she turned her head towards Breq.

"I'm just visiting for a few days. And it would be a missed opportunity not to try the jello shots, Seivarden has been telling me."

Partly, Breq guessed, because she wanted her to come along.

Stark definitely deserved jello shots today between Anakin's weekly absurdity and this redhead day he had just found out about from the specials board.

"I didn't know there was a redhead day. Which one would you like?" They could each have one. Ginger solidarity and all.

Summer had to grin a little at that. "I didn't know either until I got a card and some flowers from Apu," she admitted, "which means I'm pretty sure he made it up, but, hey, if I get a card and flowers, I'm not complaining too much. And personally, I like the watermelon basil one. It's easily the bougiest."

"Not sure how what's supposed to work?" she asked, since of course it made perfect sense to her, she'd written it.

Jesse snorted at the sign as she came in, and sank into a seat. "I can't decide whether you're some kind of sales genius," she said. "What do I get on World Redhead Day, by the way?"

"I am," Summer assured her confidently, with a nod, to help make that first part a little easier for Jesse to figure out. "And you," she gave it a good pause for dramatic effect, "get one generic beer on the house tonight. Or even two, if you really feel like celebrating.

"And I'll also buy you a jello shot," she added as well, because, hey, it was worth a try to throw it out there, right?
