Summer miiiiight be getting a little antsy about all her birthday stuff this weekend, which was not great because it was only Wednesday, and all of her distracting stuff was mostly out of the way, but she told herself that that just meant she'd have to take advantage of just taking it easy these next two days and enjoy it while she could, because once Saturday hit, she planned on hitting it hard.

(So much for being scared straight, huh?)

Either way, in whatever downtime she had at the bar that night, she was mostly on her phone, making some adjustments and finalizing a few things and maybe going down a few other rabbit holes of ideas, and then staunchly trying to ignore the string of texts from Tricia Lange asking if her boss was going to be there again this year.

God, Tricia, what the hell??

"Yeah, I know, right?" said Summer. "Like it's someone's birthday coming up, or something."

That said, she was definitely going to set one down for Seivarden.

"You're coming to the party, right?"

She added with a grin: "And do you think I'd want to miss the party of the year?"

She raised the jello shot in a toast and downed it.

It was a distinctly tired-looking Jesse, red hair sticking out of her ponytail at odd angles, who sank down into a seat at the bar. "I can really use that beer around now."

"Pretty much all set."

Well, she'd literally had the wheels in motion for this thing since pretty much March, so any answer other than that would be probably a little worrisome. But that did mean that Summer had been working on this thing since pretty much before March, and now it was pretty much all set and yet she still had three more days to just...what? Sit and wait? Like that could even be a thing???

She sucked in an anxiously proud breath to go along with her eager smile as she looked at him.

"Just a few tweaks here and there, maybe a few shifts, but I think things are good! I mean, unless anyone totally blows it on the last leg."

Which would be you, Luce. You were the last leg. Or, well, second to last, but details, details.

On the bright side, if anything did go wrong toward the last leg, Summer planned to be sufficiently too smashed to care at that point.

She was never letting Apu live that one down, even when he wasn't even around.

"But I don't know," she shrugged, "I might have heard...something, about this weekend? Like a...whisper, maybe?"

"A rumor," Annie agreed, settling onto a barstool. "I guess we'll have to wait and see if, like, an amazing crazy party ends up happening."

Annie already had her outfit laid out, honestly. It had taken precedence over unpacking less-fun things.

"Hi!" Annie replied, wandering over with her margarita. "How's it going? Have I missed anything truly noteworthy the last couple of weeks?"

Aside from the thing in the park. She was pretty up to speed on that.

He paused then, and gave Summer a suspicious look. "There isn't actual fish in the fish bowl, is there?"

There had been beef in the fudge yesterday. Anything could happen.

"How did I know you were going to be the one to ask me that first?" asked Summer, grinning proudly at herself, fondly at him, as she went and got a birthday cake shot for him. "And hello, Stark. No, there is no actual fish in the fish bowl, it's just more of those gummy fish that I've used before, but it seemed summer-y," not to be confused with Summer-y, "and apparently thematic? So they're all safe today. How are you?"
