Caritas; Wednesday [09/15].
Summer Smith was having regrets.
Not about anything here, of course, although half of those jello shots really suggested that she maybe should, but she was starting to feel like she had made a huge mistake in actually agreeing to giving that whole 'family dinner with Barry' thing a try. Honestly, she felt she should have known better. Things had gone really well last weekend, so, statistically speaking, that only meant that things would probably be a disaster this coming weekend, although, really, she was convinced that anything having to deal with her family was a disaster right from the get-go.
But, hey, she figured as long as they didn't have to deal with the apocalypse (again), like some families as of late, they'd be good, right?
"I'm pretty sure I just doomed us to have to deal with the apolalpyse this weekend....again," Summer muttered, to no one in particular, shaking her head at her phone as she typed out yet another message to her dad about how, yes, that recipe looked fine for dinner, just like the fifteen million previous recipes he'd sent her, and then going back to respond to Morty who was just kind of being a little bitch about the whole thing, in between also, you know, doing her damn job, because it was a Wednesday night, like, she understood that at least Jerry had nothing else going on in his life, but didn't Morty at least have school to go to in the morning? Was he even still in school? Seriously, at this point, he'd probably just be better off as a drop-out...
And, because she was pretty sure he wouldn't bother responding anyway, Summer did add a text to Rick that went something along the lines of I swear to god, if you let the world get destroyed this weekend, pls just let it end me once and for all

Also, cute of him to think she couldn't multitask and hold multiple conversations, in text and in person, at once.
In fact, she was beaming at him even as her fingers typed out a pretty significant rant to Morty about how sorry she was that no one except their mom cared about this new superhero girlfriend of his, and the only reason their mom cared was because she was apparently old af and he was, you know, in high school.
"Jon! Hey, how's it going? What can I get ya?"

"Erm...cider, please."

A good question from the man who came to Caritas exclusively to talk to Summer and ergo had no idea how much karaoke was actually sung here at all.
no subject
Probably because at least half those shots were dubious at best more often than not.
"But, hey, you never know, right?"
With that, she tucked her phone away (for now) so she could get Lucifer the usual lineup of shots, and a grin.
"Why? You thinking of getting up there?"
And wouldn't it figure, her without the OCD for it today, too!

After the events of the last week and being lectured at by Commander Walsh this morning, Goose was perhaps more eager than usual for a drink.
He took a seat at the bar, “is there really a drink made of broken glass?”
It honestly wouldn’t have surprised him but there was still much he was learning about these things.
no subject
Because she was pretty sure that wouldn't surprise most people if she had.

“Should probably stick with the non glass version,” he said with a grin, “my commanding officer would probably have a heart attack if I did try it with glass,”

"Um. Are those drinks?" he asked, looking at the menu. "And what's karaoke?"
no subject
(Okay, it was still sometimes a little awkward, especially now that the gap between student-Sumer and adult-Summer was widening, and she kind of realized she hadn't seen all that many students in the bar except for for events in a while...)
"Aw, Kiem," Summer said, placing a hand to her chest almost proudly for a moment as she realized, "I get the opportunity to teach you in both the classroom and the world. So, they're psuedo-drinks, they're called jello shots, and they're basically wiggly little booze bites, if you've never tried one, you're definitely getting one on the house because it's your first one, even without the karaoke, and karaoke is amazing, and you should definitely do it, it's basically why we have that stage there, you basically go up, let the band know which song you want to sing, and then you sing it for everyone and it's great time because, ideally, everyone's so drunk that it doesn't matter if you suck, and if you don't suck, everyone's drunk so they appreciate it even more! 10 out of 10, highly recommend

He would sing a song regardless.

No jello shots tonight. Issa got upset.
[This is just me feeling it's wrong for Seivarden not to let Summer know why she's not showing up, even if it's just because I don't have time for two characters in Caritas tonight.]

And after thoroughly looking over that picture with her brows lifted, impressed, and even zooming in on some of the finer details, she had to respond with at least:
I think your cat needs therapy, my dude.
(Dude, in this case, obviously being a gender neutral term, thank you).p

But the Broken Glass comment was definitely a good start toward at least distracting her from mentioning anything as a proud grin surfaced. Because she was definitely expecting reactions like that.
"Wanna try one?" she asked.

Her grin then turned toward Jesse with what she figured, by now, Jesse would expect as inevitable. "So, what you think? Drink and a snack, all in one! That's just efficiency, baby!"

"Free shots for Karaoke? Does that count playing or just singing?" he asked with a curious look.
no subject
But her head tilted a little at the question, considering as another link popped up from her dad that made her sigh, send out a standard yeah okay fine seriously I'm sure whatever u make will be fine and went to focus her attention on Dwight.
"I think it depends," she decided, "on what you play."
Which wasn't true at all, Summer handed out free shots like they were candy on Halloween, but that didn't means she couldn't at least get some performances out of it, too!
no subject
He laughed as he looked at Summer and shook his head. "Though in all seriousness I haven't played for anyone in a while. But who knows... free booze may talk me into it eventually."
