Drunk and Bored club, Saturday night on the beach

It was Saturday and good weather, so Miguel was out on the beach, there was a fire lit, and he had a twelve-pack of decent beer and a bottle of rum.

The Drunk and Bored club was in session!

And, since someone had to be there to supply the absolutely terrible beer and stupid good whiskey (and endless supply of bro nods), Rosa was there, too.

Definitely there on the bored side. Working on the drunk.

"I tried bringing you leftover omelets, but I got sand in the eggs," Miguel lied.

"....do I even want to know?" asked Rosa, after a good long moment, because, hey, you know, around here...

"Probably not," Miguel said, smirking. "Get up to anything fun in the last twelve hours?"

It had been a hot minute since Amaya had partaken in a little D&B for herself (she was chronically lacking in the bored part of the equation, after all), but she figured she would finally acknowledge Diaz's texted invite and show up this time around.

With some pumpkin ale that had been in the back of her fridge since last fall*.

What? She'd forgotten it was there! And it wasn't like beer would just go bad, right? Especially with the marvels of refrigeration?

"Great," murmured Rosa, as she debated whether or not the beer she brought would be an upgrade to what Blackstone brought or not, but still went to trade her to take that crap off her hands, "now there's two people here I have to talk to."

"You invited me!" Amaya reminded her, accepting the beer exchange easily enough and knowing that if Diaz really was annoyed by it, she wouldn't have bothered saying anything at all, so it was kind of touching, really.

"Hey, Amaya. Trade you?" Miguel held out one of his beers. Call him curious.

Obviously, the pumpkin ale hadn't been a big hit at the Blackstone household, so Amaya had no hesitation on relinquishing any up, especially for a trade, and held out out for Miguel in kind.

"I do love a good trade," she admitted. "How've you been, Miguel?"

"Not bad." He cracked open the pumpkin ale and toasted her with it. "Cheers. You?"

Dwight had planned on getting some fishing done earlier in the day but the rain had put a damper on that. So, when he realized it was Saturday he headed to the beach to see if D&B was going on. And there he was trudging up the sandy beach, a six pack of beer in hand, and another one he was currently working on in the other.

Welp, there was some awkwardness Amaya could have prevented herself from if she'd have just kept on with the whole generally skipping these things. Thankfully, there was at least a beer in her hand to finish up while she tried to figure out exactly what to do with her eyes at the moment, before realizing it might be a little obvious if they'd managed to look pretty much everywhere except in the direction of a certain someone.

And so she figured she might as well take a page from Diaz's book and just hit that spot with a small nod of a greeting and acknowledgement.

There. Perfectly acceptable, practically expected social interaction for your Drunk & Bored Club. Nothing to see or be awkward about here!

Dwight raised an eyebrow slightly at that reaction, giving a nod in return as he found a spot on the sand to sit, putting the pack of beer down as he did. After a moment, and a long drink form the bottle already in his hand, Dwight glance over and gave another slight nod.

"Amaya," he said simply "how's it going?"

Ahhh, zards.

How did Diaz do it? When she nodded at people in greeting, that was that, people didn't usually follow it up with actually talking to her, right?

Hmmm. Must be the murderous intent in her eyes. Amaya could definitely use some work on that.

But to the question, she shrugged a little, intent on her drink for a moment, which would have worked better if she hadn't already just finished it. "Oh," she said, "you know. It's...going. How's things with you?"

You know, Dwight was just a fool-hearted and muddled-headed man at times. Was to be expected.

"Going alright. Working on some projects. Keeping busy." (in as many ways as possible)

Dwight took another drink before responding. "It's good to see ya again" he added after a moment.

"Hey, neighbor!" Miguel called out, grinning. "Long time, no see!" Since probably about this morning. Yesterday? Something like that.

Yeah something like that. Coffee had been mooched per tradition and all that.

"Yeah I know right?" Dwight said with a laugh as he held up his beer. "You been doing alright in the 'oh-so-many-hours' since morning coffee?"

"I mean, I've had more coffee at work," Miguel pointed out. "Also food. And now drinks, so I can't complain. You?"

"Keeping myself busy and distracted. Or, at least trying to" Dwight conceded.

Hey, if Steven was going to nag him about not spending enough time around people, Marc was going to handle it his way. Alcohol and fellow anti-social types was perfect.

Marc would be getting the expect chin-life of anti-social solidarity for that night, too. so, look, he could even point out that interaction had even occurred and everything!

Marc gave his own silent nod back. He then took a drink of his beer because obviously this much conversation would make anyone thirsty.

Miguel nodded and held out a beer.

Marc accepted because that was half the point of being here. "How's it going?"

Most people would say thank you but this was Marc so be glad he said anything, frankly.
