Pizza Planet, Monday

Raiden had spent most of Sunday familiarizing himself with the kitchen of the Pizza Planet and the ~~NPCs~~ staff, and by Monday morning he thought he had enough of the hang of things to open the place for business. Hell, it practically ran itself, as far as he could tell.

He was just gonna ignore the (not, admittedly, all that large) pile of suitcases that seemed to be following him around today, even if it did make maneuvering in the kitchen kind of awkward. It wasn't any worse than working around a sleeping Gray, after all, and he'd done that plenty of times.

Even though Sidon felt a little bad that the particularly waterlogged trunks and suitcases (the ones that said things like 'dead sister' and 'world destruction' and 'fears of inadequacy' and 'lost love,' you know the types....) that had been floating around him and the docks that morning were likely to follow him and maybe drip a little on the floor, he simply could not ignore a siren's call when he heard/sensed/saw one! Which had him ducking carefully into through the door of the pizza place.

"Pizza and crab? Two of my absolute most favorite foods, together as one in harmony? Why, I simply must indulge!"

Raiden came out of the kitchen smiling and wiping his hands on his apron, followed by his pile of 'Gluttony' and 'dead brother' and so on. "A--" Giant shark person. Demon? Mutant? Raiden didn't want to assume. "Being after my own heart! I'll put you in for an extra large, then?" Would that be enough food? Raiden didn't know how much shark people ate.

"Better make it two!" said Sidon, with a broad grin to go along with his pleased chuckle and a bit of a wink. "Just a light snack for the time being! But thank you! I appreciate that, and no doubt I shall also appreciate such a spectacular combination of flavors! Really, I'm surprised I have not thought to put fish and the like on pizza more often! Obviously, I know anchovies are quite the staple, and I do rather enjoy them, but this....!" He gestured happily toward the specials board. "Now this opens up a whole new world of possibilities, my friend!"

Truly, a being after Raiden's own heart. "Oh," he said brightly after he'd turned and called the order into the kitchen, "I know lots of pizza recipes that use seafood. Crab and shrimp, mostly, and a few with crawfish," because Louisianians hadn't met anything yet they wouldn't add crawfish to, "but really, with the right flavor combinations you can put just about anything on pizza and make it delicious. That's what makes it such a perfect food."

Sidon listened to this with a bit of fascination that had developed into something truly revelatory by the end of it, his eyes brightening a little with a laugh. "I wonder, then," he mused, "if its inherent perfection is precisely why I seems to be the only food that most being consider fit for consumptions, besides, of course, the bounty of seafood readily available, that I can easily stomach without issue!"

That might have something to do with it, but, really, it was mostly just because it was funny.

"I'll certainly not complain, though," said Sidon, with a grin that easily showed the truth in that statement. "You're certainly not wrong that the food does, in fact, lend itself to a remarkable breadth of variety!"

"Oh, do you have dietary restrictions I should know about?" Raiden asked. He could not relate, but he wanted to make sure people could eat the food he made them. "I can definitely make sure to work more seafood pizzas into the menu!"

If Sidon didn't watch out, Raiden would go on a whole paean to pizza and its wonderfulness.

"Most things besides fish and a few vegetables are completely unpalatable to me!" Sidon announced, with a boldness that almost made it sound like he was somewhat proud of that fact or, at the very least, amused by it. "But somehow, no matter what may be on it, it seems as though pizza is not only completely safe, but also an absolute delight. Were it not for pizza, surely there would have been some winters here in which I may well have starved!"

This was, of course, entirely untrue, or, at the very least, a bold exaggeration, because Sushi Station was also a thing and very much a favorite of Sidon's as well, but this was far more dramatic and fun a story to spin.

Aside from the part where he could eat pizza, Sidon had just basically described Raiden's worst nightmare, and his brain was now racing through foods he could convert into pizza format so that Sidon could hopefully enjoy them. Biscuits and gravy pizza? Was that a--duh, breakfast pizza, of course it was. "I am...so sorry," he said. "But at least you have pizza? And--and now it has crab on it."

"At least I have pizza," Sidon agreed, his smile going slightly less boisterous and maybe a bit more just fond and touched and relieved, "and it has crab on it."

And he thought hearing those words sounded magical! That was nothing compared to saying them out loud!

"Spectacular!" he gushed out appreciatively. "But, really, I do not mind so much; there are certainly things I can consume that most other people cannot, like so many of the wild, fresh fish straight from the source, no cooking or preparation required! I wouldn't trade that for anything in all the world!"

And when an odd little suitcase just marked 'hot sauce' showed up, Sidon tilted his head a little at it and realized that, actually, no, that wasn't true, there certainly was something he would trade for it without even a moment's hesitation, wasn't there?

Not that Raiden had never eaten raw fish before (even if sushi wasn't his favorite; it took so much time to make and then so much of it to even get close to filling him up), but it was so much better deep-fried in a beer batter, or pan-fried with butter and a little lemon...he wasn't about to voice any of those thoughts to Sidon, though, when he might not be able to eat them. He wasn't heartless.

Raiden wasn't really clear on what the point of all the boxes and shit was, other than, apparently, to make them feel bad, but if 'hot sauce' was a sticking point for Sidon... "You know you can put hot sauce on pizza, right? I mean, it's a bit weird but there's not a law or anything. Might work."

"Oh," said Sidon, who blinked a little bit, because he was having one of those rare moments where he found it a bit difficult to be a bold and boisterous as he usually was quite naturally, and he gave his head a shake, and he gave Raiden a very soft sort of smile, even with how sharp it was without even trying. "No, but thank you. I've tried. While it appears that pizza is the one thing outside of my usual diet that I can happily injest without any problems whatsoever, it is still not strong enough to overpower the difficulties I have with hot sauce in particular..."

There was a hesitant pause, as a particularly heavy, even for him, suitcase seemed to just show up in his hand and pull him down a little bit, simply marked 'VETTE', which he tried to just chuckle away dismissively.

"Both emotionally and physically," he said, sounding a bit sheepish about it, "it would seem...

"My apologies," he then added. "This particular day can be quite taxing on one's attempt to maintain a stable disposition, indeed!"

"Yeah, it's...pretty annoying," Raiden said as he kicked a duffel bag labeled with an Italian guy's name back into his own pile. "Especially when I'm trying to move around in the kitchen. That sucks, about the hot sauce. Oh! Did you want your pizza for here or to go?" Important questions.

"I'll likely take it to go, tha--" Sidon started, then looked around at the luggage that had managed to gather around him even in that short period of time, some of which now draped off his massive person. "Ermm, well, maybe for here, it might be a bit much to manage the pizzas along with everything....else."

"These suitcases are assholes," Raiden muttered. "Won't even let a--being take your pizza where you want to, jeez." Deeply inconsiderate, baggage.

"I was rather hoping the tide would take care of most of mine," Sidon admitted, looking a little sheepish about it, although it was a bit difficult for a nine foot tall sharkman to pull off sheepish that effectively. "But they decided to just get out of the water right along with me! Here is perfectly acceptable as well, though; I must admit, these days, I start to feel quite a bit cramped indoors, but at least the buildings here are a bit roomier than you would expect just by looking at them, and the company so far as been quite exceptional."

"I'm Sidon, by the way," he offered, with a duck of his head, before he gave his fist the requisite pump across his chest with a sparkling smile to cap the gesture off. "Sidon, the Zora Prince! And who do I have the pleasure of receiving such excellent pizzas and bemoaning our current luggage situation with on this otherwise fine day?"

So probably not a demon if he didn't know who Raiden was, although maybe he was just from a really different world. In Raiden's pretty much everyone supernatural had heard of the cursed sons.

"I'm Raiden," Raiden said. "Pleased to meet you, Your Highness." See, Al? He had so paid attention during etiquette lessons! "I definitely know what you mean about feeling cramped sometimes, although...I don't have it anywhere near as bad as you, I guess."

"Oh my Radian the Radiant," Charlie said, shoving the Aunties satchel in the corner and trying to balance the Wild and they Won't Settle Anywhere bags on top of them. "I d hope you were serious about the pizza."

"Charlie," Raiden said somberly, "I never joke about pizza."

"You may just be my new best friend," Charlie said with a smile. "So, fix me up. What should I try?"

"Well, the special's really good, if you like crab," Raiden said, "but personally, I feel like you can never go wrong with sausage."

If Bellamy had been here he would have inserted a dirty joke at this point.

Charlie laughed and wiggled her eyebrows at him. She wouldn't make a dirty joke - this time, but she could appreciateone.

"Throw in some mushrooms and some extra cheese and we've got a plan."

"Sounds like an excellent plan to me!" Raiden agreed, then hesitated. "Uh...I never know what size pizza normal people eat." Gray was probably the closest in their family, and what he didn't finish Raiden would happily polish off for them.

"Maybe a medium sized pizza," Charlie suggested, "Unless you can take a break and want to join me."
