Well, Jane had been busy back home for a little bit there, but was raring to go at the bar again.

Much to Tino's obvious dismay.

"Why would I have quit?" Jane asked, frowning at where Tino was sullenly wiping down part of the bar top away from her. "And it was a vacation week in there too, you know."

Not that she'd gone, but. Still.

Ignoring him, she straightened the sign directing people to where the Purim party was in the back room instead.

Steven blushed, pleased at the compliment. "I like seeing yours, if we're taking in opinions on the matter. Very handsome."

"I'm taking in your opinion on the matter," Watts told him.

"My opinion is that you are very handsome, Llewellyn Watts," Steven said. He hoped that wasn't too intimate to say in public. "I'm very glad there's nothing in the way of me seeing you."

Well, Watts was making an effort to be less tense about that sort of thing, which perhaps explained why he was already well into this glass of wine and would soon be starting another.

“Is that why you picked this costume for me, then?” Watts wondered.

"Might have been an influence," Steven said. Including how he knew his beau loved his snacks, so not having a beard in the way of eating was much more of an advantage for Llewellyn than it was for Steven. "Also I think the color looks nice on you."

Also this costume had an extremely handy pouch, which may or may not have been intended to be used as snack storage but of course that’s what Watts was using it for.

“That it is an attractive colour on you may have played a part in my opinion of your costume,” Watts admitted. “Even if I did not think through the part where you would be required to wear a beard.”

"But it's fun, isn't it?" Steven asked. He thought his fake beard made him look the sort of silly that swung back around to being cool again. He was halfway right. "Makes me look wise?"

Yes, but the silly was endearing. At least in Watts's opinion.

"How is that different from normal?"

Steven blushed. Which could be seen with the beard around his neck. "There's you with your flattery."

"As you like to remind me, it's not flattery if it's true, is it?" Watts said smugly, finishing off that first glass of wine.

"Shall I get us another?" he asked, nodding towards where all the wine was set up.

"Please," Steven said. Loads of wine was part of the holiday, after all, and at this point Steven still needed to catch up.

"Back in a moment," Watts said, and went to peruse that ~~moddable~~ wine table.

There were a number of vintages of.. questionable quality... there for sure. But also some good choices, even a few obscure good choices.

It was one of the latter that he poured for himself and Steven.

"Here, darling." Ooo, term of endearment! In public, even. That it was said quietly and they were not currently within earshot of anyone else besides was not the point.

"Thank you, Llew," Steven said. It was dead handy having a term of endearment which could be said in public without giving things away. Unless you said it in front of your beau's ex who would understand exactly what it meant. In which case too bad since he had his chance and could now embrace the failure.

Not that Steven had opinions on the matter.

"Think Marc will try going about tomorrow," Steven said, just to tee that up for future evening plans. "Get back on his schedule as much as he can."

Especially when said ex never actually got the privilege of using said nickname himself.

"Shall we go our separate ways tonight then?" Watts asked. He didn't particularly care to, but nor did he begrudge Marc the right to go back to his routine, including early Tuesday mornings at the gym.

Steven was aware this was slightly selfish on his part. But given that the one most being punished would be himself for having to wake up early, "I'd rather not? If you don't mind my company tonight? I'd only need to leave in the morning is all."

"I never mind your company," Watts pointed out. "So I'd see you off as I did that first day we were in London?"

And then go back to sleep, much as he had then.

"If you don't mind it," Steven said. He smiled at him. "I wouldn't."

He'd mind the waking up early part, but Llewellyn was worth it.

"Then it's a plan," Watts decided, impulsively reaching out with the hand not holding on to a glass of wine to take Steven's hand and give it a quick squeeze.

Steven gave as much of a squeeze back as he could, delighted by Llewellyn's boldness. "I'll take as much of you as I can have."

Even if it meant getting up early the next morning. That was true love right there.

"Wicked," Watts teased with a smirk.

"Am not," Steven said, gesturing at his outfit with pride. "Got to go on the boat and all."

"Smart alec," Watts countered, though his tone was more or less identical to when he said 'darling'.

Which was good, because Steven took this sort of thing as encouragement. Which Llewellyn probably knew. "It's all right. I saved you a spot and everything."

On the boat, you see.

"Steven Grant," Watts said, still with that fond exasperation.

Steven was, of course, thrilled. But he pretended this was a serious conversation. "I'm not letting you drown, Llew. Don't be silly. There's plenty of cubits for you."
