Movies in the Park- The park, obviously, Monday night

The park was set up with a large screen for the movie to project onto, the sound system was up and working, and there was plenty of room for people to spread out with blankets, chairs, picnic supplies, or whatever else they might have brought. Alcohol was fine as long as you kept in mind that this was a family-friendly event, in that younger kids would only probably really be interested in the cars and older kids might enjoy the actual movie.

So come one and come all, and watch yourselves some 2 Fast 2 Family.

Rey was pretty sure she'd never seen this movie, and it felt like a decent enough way to spend a night. She'd gone and gotten some snacks beforehand, and was totally willing to share.

Gray loved these movies! Not as much as he loved scary movies, but, y'know, no one had asked him. He just hoped he didn't fall asleep and miss all the action.

Raiden had brought along plenty of pizza to share with anyone who might have forgotten food (or just want pizza once they saw it), and had it stacked up next to his and Gray's blanket.

He also had some fruit and seeds for Birden (Bird Arden), if she was around.

Don had been on his feet all day, what with today being his first full day of surgery at the hospital on the mainland and all. He'd planned to go home and collapse into the void for a while, but when he'd been scrubbing out after his last case he'd absently mentioned to Thor that he didn't think he'd ever seen any of these movies...and then one of the surgery techs asked who he was talking to, and he'd had to awkwardly explain that his town was doing a summer movie thing and he'd been thinking aloud, rather than tell them he'd been talking to his god, who only looked right in the mirror.

Shock that he'd never seen any of the Fast & Family movies had ensued, before they all remembered he was from New York and had been dead, and then the awkwardness was all on them.

Long story short, Don was here, with a newly purchased camp chair since if he sat on the ground after a long day in surgery getting up again was going to be a challenge, to see what all the fuss was about.

As per usual, Henry had no idea what was going on - and he was just... going along with it. Sitting down. Looking around him surreptitiously in hopes there was someone to ask what they were sitting for.

Steve waved as he walked by with two puppies--a Husky and a Belgian Shepherd--on leashes. "Hi!"

Nell and Gladio had thought this might be a fun idea for the evening. Nell had brought a picnic basket with her - yes, an actual picnic basket - filled with nibbles. She wasn't very familiar with the movie, but she was ready to be entertained!

Gladio was thinking this whole thing could be pretty great for the both of them, and not just because he was pretty sure that picnic basket would have at least a Cup Noodle^TM stashed away in there somewhere, too. But Nell probably hadn't seen many movies, and he hadn't seen all that many movies from here, so it would be a lot of new things for the both of them.

And it didn't hurt that they were starting with a movie that seemed like Gladio was in the direct demographic for (if you looked past the lack of big ass swords and excessive praise over branded instant noodles).

Jaina had the kids, who wanted to be here, and Jag, who kind of didn't. She had a blanket for them, which Dax had already abandoned for grass for no reason at all but had stuck his legs under said blanket (??), and Daniel had already downed a full soda before the movie even started so clearly this was going to go well.

"Mind if we sit close?" Anakin asked, arriving with Christopher. Christopher's phone had been taken away so he could properly appreciate the movie and so Christopher was leaning into his Skywalker heritage and pouting like it was his job.

Jag had been kind of dragged, yes, and looked very out of place sitting on the ground, blanket or not. He hardly ever broke out things like "I'm the leader of half the galaxy, why am I doing this," but he was thinking about it.

Once Eleanor explained the concept to Luma, there was no chance in hell they would be missing it. And Eleanor wasn't surprised. Even if her own movie experience before coming here was mostly restricted to what the nuns at St. Brigid deemed appropriate every once in a while for a 'treat,' it was still leagues ahead of Luma's, since they didn't even have a TV, and it wasn't like the Zarrins were traipsing down to Winterport every week to take in a film at the cinema...

So they were there, setting out on a blanket with one sister dryly amused at the other sister's clear excitement, even if Luma didn't think a movie about cars sounded all that interesting...

The family parts, though, would probably resonate.

The good part about running something like this is that oh no, Kitty had a reason to hang out and watch a movie about cars.

In a shirt that was merch for the movie. Don't judge her life.

Prompto wasn't too sure Noctra would be interested in a movie like this (lots of action, though, and moving things....she might not get what was happening, but he could see her being drawn in!), but he did know that he was, and, even more so, he was interested in anything that gave her the opportunity to just sort of feel some space that wasn't their apartment. Fresh air, room to roam, quality time....what wasn't to love?

Well, some of the other movie-goers might not love a two-year-old on the loose and making a lot of noise and distraction from their movie,so this was also sort of a test run to prepare himself for an early exit if she got too rowdy or wound up.

And, of course, he was definitely snapping pictures here and there until things got started.

Steve had taken the puppies for a very long walk before inflicting them upon the park, and Fee and Libby were, for once, not dragging on their leashes to yank Steve along to the most fascinating rocks to smell. They weren't even trying to chase the flamingos!

Steve glanced around for Tony, Patriot, and presumably the most puppy toy-covered blanket in the park.

Tony perked up, waving over at Steve. "I got them puzzle toys for enrichment. They have to solve it to get the treats."

Oh, someone was just going to crack the plastic open like a demon.

Don was keeping a cautious eye on Steve's plethora of dogs, since if those leashes got tangled up with him and his walking stick it was game over.

Flint now knew what a movie was thanks to the beach class!

He didn't know enough to pack a blanket, though, so he was sitting on the grass looking awkward.

Stark was ready for a movie. He hadn't seen this one and it seemed like a good way to get out and see people. Hopefully.

Once it was actually dark and the movie could be seen, the movie began to play. Just maybe don't talk super loudly through it.
