Caritas - Open [6/27]

Veronica was still running on nerves and caffeine when she got to work. She was grateful to see Tino was back from wherever he'd been, though he snorted at her when she asked if he'd had a nice vacation.

Aaron hadn't appeared to her again since Anakin chased him off. She was hoping that was a good sign, even though Piper hadn't been able to help her.

Blair held up a piece of paper with five questions. "This is a ditto. I'm going to do lots of them tonight and compare my answers."

Walter read the ditto and started to laugh.

"You are one of a kind, Blair."

Nadia laughed. "If you can keep up with that, more power to you. What do you think you'll start with?"

Blair showed the drink that Veronica had handed him. "It's called a *mumble* on the beach."

"It's pink! And it's got an umbrella!"

Walter looked over at Veronica and shook his head. "I think I'll have something a bit less... pink."

"Awww, but pink looks good on you." Nadia hadn't forgotten her conversation with Veronica, and was keeping an eye on her, but she didn't want to ruin Blair's first drinking experience by being moody.

"How many colors do drinks come in?" Blair asked as he finished off his drink.

"All of them."

"Awesome." Blair ran through his ditto for his first drink and the answers hadn't really changed so he ordered up a blue drink and grinned at his friends. "I like blue."

Nadia couldn't help but wonder how many drinks Blair was planning to have. "You know, the affects aren't instantaneous,"

Walter had his lager and lime from Tino and nodded. "The faster you drink, the more likely you are to be ill, too."

Blair stopped mid slurp. "Huh. How long do you think I should wait before doing the dittos? Should I time myself between drinks? Should I be drinking from bigger glasses?"

"Maybe wait until you think you might be feeling it?" Nadia shrugged. "And of course, you'll have to sing."

"Singing is obligatory," Walter agreed. "You can't miss out on that."

"Okay. Feeling it. Singing." Blair nodded and scribbled them down on his notebook sloppily before finishing up the blue drink and ordering something green.

"Should I sing now or wait till I've gone through more colors?"

"Ohhh, definitely wait. It's more fun if you wait."

She was not going to say who it would be more fun for.

Blair nodded and slowly sipped his green drink. "So how are you guys tonight?"

Walter was watching Blair go through his drinks and just waiting for the moment when the alcohol really hit. Not that he was stinting on his own consumption.

"I'm doing well. Burns in first aid, singing in our later workshop, and a quiet day at the restaurant."

"Okay," Nadia said, without elaborating. She sipped at her drink and kept casting glances at Veronica, then around the bar.

Blair would have totally been paying attention, except he was busy filling out the next ditto.

Walter was paying attention and cocked his head questioningly at Nadia.

Nadia practiced her skills from Scoobying that day and hopefully gave Walter a look that said "I'll tell you later."

Blair had gotten his next drink, something sorta purple and was halfway through when he blinked at them. "Hey Walter. Weren't you gay a little while ago?"

Walter widened his eyes and waved Tino over for a refresh on his drink.

"Ahh... I've revised that recently."

And how.

Nadia figured that Blair was on his way to full on drunkeness. Though it was hard to tell.
