Beach - Sunday Afternoon

After leaving Teddy at the Perk, Katara made her way along the beach thoughtfully.  She couldn't come back to this island after so long without visiting it and remembering the countless hours she'd spent perfecting her waterbending on it.  The ocean felt the same.  Warmer than at home, but still right.

She reached into her pocket to take out a piece of the chocolate she'd made sure to find and savored the flavour, wondering again if it were possible to import to home.

It wasn't too hard to guess where Katara would go and Zuko smiled a little as he finally found her.

"Your brother is going to cause an incident one of these days if he keeps insisting on calling me Zukes," he told her.

She looked up at him with a warm smile. "He wouldn't do it if it didn't bug you so much."

"Which is exactly why he should stop it," he moved to stand beside her, returning her smile easily. "You should talk to him, ambassador."

"Are you concerned it will cause a diplomatic incident, Firelord?" Katara asked, pretending to be serious.

"It might," he said, just as seriously. "We might have to discuss this at full length when we get back."

She nodded. "I shall be sure to put that on my agenda." Katara gave him an impish grin. "If we're discussing it when we get back...then you won't mind if I call you Zukes this weekend?"

"The beach is still here!" Lee said like he was expecting it wouldn't be. Too long in space means water rationing, water shortages and water...well, just lack of water.

Laughing, Katara turned. "They don't tend to move."

"I haven't seen a beach in...frak, nearly six years," he said, looking at the water longingly. "Just glad to see Fandom didn't dry it up or turn it into the home of dinosaurs or something."

"Six years?" she repeated, sounding horrified. Katara wasn't entirely sure she wouldn't dry up at that. "That's torture."

"Spaceship," he said and rolled his eyes. "I got used to it though. And we had showers which are...not at all the same thing."

After spending the morning in the dorms, Zack came down to the beach.

Of course, he looked slightly ridiculous with the suit and everything.

Katara glanced over at the man then almost did a double-take. "I think I miss the hair."

"It's supposed to make me look more professional," Zack said. "Apparently juries believe that hair length determines intelligence."

"Perhaps they should choose more wisely for their juries," Katara suggested.

Zack shrugged. "I'm used to it by now. Even if I hope Professor Stinson doesn't make an appearance this weekend."

"Thought I'd find you here," Sokka said, as he walked up to Katara sipping a Squishy. "Are people here so scary that you had to get away?"

"Not at all," she said with a smile at her brother. "Just wanted to see if the water was the same."

"Everything's the same," Sokka pointed out. "I found Momo Jr. in my room this morning." He shrugged. "It's Fandom."

"Momo Jr.? So Fandom really does have a weekend planned for us. Two days of high school. Just how it was," Katara smiled. "I think I've missed it."

"Maybe even an invasion," Sokka mused. "Peace sometimes starts to get a little boring."

Burton went for a walk, around the town and around the island. Hey, still a nice beach, after all this. Good to know they didn't build over it, bunch of condos or whatever.

Katara smiled politely at the stranger.

"Hi. Jack Burton, in town for the reunion. Are you teacher? Townperson? Fellow reunionee?"

"I'm Katara," she said. "I'm back for the reunion as well."
