Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

"Booze." Reno pointed at the chick from the other night. "I'm buyin' you booze, yo. Unless you want me to order pizza again."

"Hell, booze works for me," Mel said. "My last date was with the armored freak. And I got to say it's nice to date someone who has more colorful hair than me."

Reno was starting to get the notion that perhaps his hair color seemed slightly unnatural in this place. No reason, really.

"Booze is a good start, then," he slammed some money on the countertop, "order whatever the hell you want, yo. I'm planning on frying my brains on everclear before the night is over."

Who needed brains, anyhow?

"I'll have what he's having," Mel said jabbing a thumb at Reno. "And if he's lucky his brains won't be too fried to realize what a great date I was."

"Any date that involves booze can't be half bad," Reno decided, knocking back the first shot that headed in his direction. It was like drinking antifreeze, dammit.

He motioned for another shot.

"So. Your name's Mel, huh? Didn't catch that over the pancakes and dismemberment the other day."

"Well we had our priorities in order," Mel said after finishing her shot and motioning Tino for another. "Because let's face it: Food and gore? Always comes first."

"Damn straight," Reno agreed, "all the better if you can get both at once. If only to see the faces of all the sissy shits hangin' around while they try not to gag watchin' you eat sausages while there's disemboweling going on, yo."

He looked at his watch and smirked.

"Time's nearly up. We're gonna have to nab a common room for more dismemberment in the future or something."

"Deal. You bring the food and booze," Mel replied. "And I'll bring the gross films."
