Caritas [Saturday evening] Three Minute Dates!

Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

Three Minute Dates @ Caritas
Hosted by Robin Scherbatsky
Presented by loneliness and desperation*
* beer goggles recommended/necessary in some cases

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

[OOC: Three minutes equals ten comments for our purposes. That's five comments per person. Try your very best to get it wrapped up in that time. You do NOT have to do these in chronological order. Do them as people are available. Just try not to Joss yourself.

Remember, if you're violent, you'll be teleported out of the club and will have to make your way back. If you can't get through all of your dates today, you can sp, don't worry!

Lulu? This one must be a chick. Faith took another drag on her cigarette and looked around for whoever was gonna come by.

Lulu came up to where Faith was, and smiled softly. "You're Faith, then?" she asked, raising one eyebrow. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Lulu," she said. "Sorry I didn't catch it last time. I suck with names. So you really ain't got a last name, or is it a Madonna thing?"

You never knew around here.

"No last name," Lulu replied. "In my world, no one has them except for, like, two people, wtf Square?." She smiled a little wider. "Although I imagine there are a few around who would choose to emulate Madonna."

"She's got style, what can I say," Faith grinned. "Round here, you get your dad's last name, unless your mom ain't too sure about it and don't feel like picking one from the list. Then you get hers."

"Yes," Lulu said, "I've been doing some research about that -- I find the internet a wonderful tool for learning about this world. It differs, sometimes, depending on the culture, yes? In some places, for example, the daughter will take the mother's name, while the son takes the father's?"

"Hadn't heard that," Faith said, shaking her head. "Could be, I just never been to those places. Travel a bit for Council stuff, but before that I was mostly a Southie. South Boston, kinda north of here." She shrugged, awkwardly, not sure how to convey "the slum parts, you have slums, right?"

Lulu nodded; she was unfamiliar with the geography in question, but could guess a lot from the shrug itself, fill in some blanks. "Council, you say?" she asked. "What kind of Council?"

Faith considered. It was Fandom. People were used to crazy shit, right?

"I'm a Slayer," she said, lifting a shoulder. "Watcher's Council, they're the ones that figure out the hotspots and sends you there. Vampires, demons, things that go bump in the night, I find 'em and kill 'em."

"Ah, yes," Lulu said. "I had a similar responsibility in my own world -- for a time, I served as Guardian to a Summoner while she was on pilgrimage." It was the simplest explanation, if ridiculously over simplified. "Not quite the same as you say, but I was one of those responsible for guiding Yuna to the end of her pilgrimage, and guarding her along the way.

"Pilgrimage?" Faith took a swig from her drink. "This some kinda religious crusade goin'?"
