Caritas [Saturday evening] Three Minute Dates!

Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

Rikku blushed, hard, and fidgeted with her hair. "Hi," she said. "I, uh. Y-yeah. I did. H-how did you know, anyway?"

Sokka grinned. "He may be the coolest guy in the world, but his pronunciation sucks. When you see a kid staring at old newspapers and horribly butchering Al Bhed, it's a crime not to help, right?"

"He got old newspapers?" she said softly. "That's ... I had no idea. We, uh, we ... were dancing and he just s-started ... talking in Al Bhed. Out of nowhere."

Rikku bit her lip, looking down. "It's not ... what you think," she said quickly, blushing. "A-and ... and besides, I signed up for this a while ago. And, you know. Had to have my daily dose of Sokka."

Sokka looked at her funny. "Explain to me the part where it's not what I think??? It better not be a one-night stand; I threatened him and everything."

"He ... he said that?" she asked, looking up again with wide eyes. "About a one-n.... look, it's ... he doesn't date. Okay? He said that at the beginning. I get it. I've known that the whole time. It's good. No beating anybody up. Okay?"

Sokka facepalmed. "No, he didn't, he just seems like that kind of guy, and he assured me you weren't doing anything you didn't want to, and..." Sokka shrugged. "You're both nuts." He threw a friendly punch at her shoulder.

"Well, you knew that," she said, blushing a little. "I ... y-yeah. Not doing anything I don't ... you know. He's been honest and all that, it's all good. I just ... not used to the whole thing. Yeah?"

"...And help me find some backup."

"I'm fine," she laughed. "Honest. But thanks. You rock." She heard the bell in the background and grinned. "And that's our cue. Let me know if you pick up any hot laaaaaaadies, kay?"
