Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

Jean-Paul mentally slapped himself because no, the Mountie did not look like Walter, bad brain. "As well as can be expected, I suppose, considering I have reached the point of presenting myself at this...cattle auction. And yourself?"

"I found myself signed up for this accidentally," he told him. "Well, not exactly accidental as I did sign up for this but it was with the thought that it was something else. I don't find it too bad, I've had some nice conversation but it is rather impersonal at times."

Astonishingly, Jean-Paul was able to follow all of that. "I signed up on purpose. God help me. I think the idea is to find someone you would like to continue the...conversation with after your three minutes are up."

"Mmm. The esteemed host seems to paint it in a bit of a different light," Fraser said, "but she's odd and prone to exaggeration. I've already spoken with one person who I'd enjoy talking to further."

"So you see, it is not so bad," Jean-Paul said, regrettably half-distracted by the cynical part of his brain trying to stamp down the sparkly part, which was rapidly trying to form a crush on the Mountie.

"Not so bad at all," Fraser agreed. "It's my first event of this sort and I almost wish it wasn't such a short time span. I find myself starting to just get into a conversation and the time is up."

"Yes, that is a problem. Luckily, most of us work together," Jean-Paul said with a wry look, "so our paths are likely to cross again.

"I'm always around the school whether it be in my office or in the halls," Fraser said. "I'm sure we'll see each other soon as it appears our time now is ending."

"Yes, I am sure we will. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening." Flee, Jean-Paul. Flee the hot Mountie!
