Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

"Yeah, it's weird how you live downstairs and we never talk," Melody mused. "Sometimes I think all of us live in different dimensions, or something. But we're here now, so yay!"

"And I'm Melody, 22, Scorpio, and ... you already know I play the drums and I like cats, so, um, I'll tell you my favorite band ever is Du Jour."

"I don't know who they are," Steve admitted. "Um. I'm 90, but I was frozen for awhile, so I'm more like thirty-something; I was born on the fourth of July, so...what does that make me? I can never remember these things. I draw and paint and I'm responsible for those plates of cookies left periodically in the kitchen, but--are you vegan, or vegetarian? Because I don't have any vegan cookie recipes, I'm sorry."

"Cancer," Melody said helpfully. "I mean, that's your sign. It's supposed to make you sensitive and ambitious."

"What was being frozen like?" she wanted to know. "Because it sounds cold. And thank you for the cookies! I'm kind of half a vegan? I don't eat dairy or eggs on their own, but I'm okay with them in recipes 'cause when I tried to cut them out I lived on vegetarian ramen for a week and it just got gross. And I do have a vegan cookie recipe, I'll teach you it sometime."

[OOC: I am WAY too amused by that mistake.]

Sensitive was right, but he didn't know about ambitious...

"It wasn't really like anything. One minute I thought I was dying, the next, I was waking up," he said with a shrug. "And fifty years had gone by. I'd like to learn that recipe." He thought it might be helpful.

Melody shuddered. "I thought I was going to die once," she submitted meekly, "but then we fought them off. But it's so awesome you got over it."

She paused to sip her drink. "I'll slip the recipe under your door. Or, I'll probably be ~~handwavily~~ baking tomorrow morning for the party anyhow, so I could show you then."

Steve didn't think you ever really got over it, but he wasn't about to tell this bubbly girl that. "Anything I can do to help, please let me know."

Melody shrugged. "Let people know? I kind of forgot to invite people, I think. Other than that we're good, I'm going to go shopping in the morning."

"I'll be sure to do that. And, since I think our time is up, I'll see you around the house, Melody."

"I think you're right," Melody agreed sheepishly. "See you later, Steve."
