Caritas [Saturday evening] Three Minute Dates!

Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

Three Minute Dates @ Caritas
Hosted by Robin Scherbatsky
Presented by loneliness and desperation*
* beer goggles recommended/necessary in some cases

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

[OOC: Three minutes equals ten comments for our purposes. That's five comments per person. Try your very best to get it wrapped up in that time. You do NOT have to do these in chronological order. Do them as people are available. Just try not to Joss yourself.

Remember, if you're violent, you'll be teleported out of the club and will have to make your way back. If you can't get through all of your dates today, you can sp, don't worry!

"Polar bear," said Hoshi with hesitation. "I'd rather have all the fur."

"Even during the summer?"

"Are we talking summer in North America or summer in the Arctic?" asked Hoshi. "Because I haven't really experience either one, but I believe the fur comes in handy in the Arctic summers. Besides, I could always swim to cool off." Like everything else she did, Hoshi put too much thought into it.

"That's the best answer to that question I've had all week. Polar bears aside, tell me about yourself."

"Hoshi Sato, girl from the future," she said. "I was home-schooled before coming here, so this is my attempt at being a normal teenager. I speak a whole bunch of different languages. Oh, and are you from Chicago, by any chance?"

"How'd you guess? Ferris Bueller, guy from the past, Chicago as you guessed. I've found that being a normal teenager is highly overrated, so I do pretty much whatever I feel like. I speak English, bad English and a few words of badly distorted German."

"The reason I pick up languages so easily? I've got really good ears," Hoshi explained. "Everyone has a slightly different way of speaking and it's tied to where you were living when you first learned to speak. If you can hear the subtle variations, you can tell where someone is from originally. The only problem I've run into here has been the people who aren't from Earth."

"Aliens. They'll get you every time. Looks like our time's up, but it's been," he tried to find the right word, "informative."
